ORDINANCE NO.11-2022 •
AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO.42-2021 KNOWN AS
THE SANITARY DISTRICT 2022 SALARY ORDINANCE
WHEREAS, Indiana Code 36-4-7-3 requires the Mayor to fix the compensation of each appointive officer,deputy and
other employee of the city departments,except police officers and firefighters,prior to November 1st for the
ensuing budget year subject to the approval of Common Council;and
WHEREAS, Said statute allows the City Clerk to fix the compensation of the deputies and employees of the Clerks office
prior to November 1st for the ensuing budget year subject to the approval of Common Council;and
WHEREAS, The compensation fixed herein may not be increased during the budget year for which it is fixed but may be
reduced by the Mayor for each appointive officer,deputy and other employee of the city departments set
forth herein or by the City Clerk for employees of the Clerks office;except by amendment approved by
Common Council;and

WHEREAS, Common Council has previously adopted Ordinance 42-2021 to establish salaries for the year 2022,and
now finds it necessary to amend a salary within the Sanitation department to correct a typographical error.
NOW,THEREFORE,be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond,Indiana that the following position
be compensated as corrected and not in excess of the respective sum hereafter set forth during the calendar year 2022,to wit:

LF Operator Class A(4) Union - - 39,450.00 Hourly
TEMPORARY AND PART-TIME
In addition to the positions set forth above,the Board of Commissioners of the Richmond Sanitary
District may authorize temporary,part-time or seasonal employees provided that there are funds in the budget.
The Richmond Sanitary Board of Commissioners shall set compensation for these employees within the range
from$7.25 to$15.00 per hour.
ADDITIONAL COMPENSATION
In addition to the salaries set forth above(with the exception of Board Members)employees
shall be entitled to the same fringe benefits as set forth within the City of Richmond Personnel Policy or
as stated in negotiated contracts.
