HomeMy Public PortalAbout02-17-2022 THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, FEBRUARY 17,2022 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met at 5:00 P.M., February 17, 2022, in the Council Chambers in the Municipal Building, 50 North 5th Street, Richmond, Indiana. CALL TO ORDER Ms. Palmer called the meeting to order and the following business was conducted: ROLL CALL Board members present were: Emily Palmer and Matt Evans. Absent was Vicki Robinson. Also in attendance were Kim Vessels,Assistant City Attorney;Monica Burns,Deputy City Clerk; Greg Stiens, Director of Public Works and Engineering; Kara Noe, Purchasing; and Media. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Mr.Evans moved to approve the minutes of February 10, 2022, supported by Ms. Palmer. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT Mr. Evans moved to approve the Claims for Payment for February 18, 2022 in the amount of Six Hundred Thirty Seven Thousand Seven Hundred Forty Eight Dollars and fifty one cents ($637,748.51), supported by Ms. Palmer. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. PAYROLL CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT -None PAYROLL CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT FOR PENSION-None REQUESTS -None BID OPENINGS -None BID AWARDS -None CONTRACTS • CONTRACT NO. 18-2022 —CLARK DIETZ Board of Works Minutes February 17,2022 The City retains Contractor to provide professional services for the design (drawings and specifications) of a North 9th Street park plaza adjacent to Elm Place and North E Street. Said plaza design is procured in part to develop open-air public gathering spaces outdoors due to the impact of COVID-19 restrictions upon the community. Not to exceed $40,000.00 Mr.Evans moved to approve, supported by Ms. Palmer.Upon a vote viva voce,the motion carried. • CONTRACT NO. 30-2022—MILESTONE CONTRACTORS,L.P. The City retains Contractor to perform services in connection with street rehabilitation for thirty-five (35) roads which are designated as a part of the Community Crossings Streets Project for the City, per the drawings and specifications with road locations as more specifically described on said specifications and bid materials. Not to exceed $1,526,506.25 Mr.Evans moved to approve, supported by Ms. Palmer.Upon a vote viva voce,the motion carried. • CONTRACT NO. 31-2022—MURPHY ELEVATOR COMPANY, INC. The City retains Contractor to perform elevator maintenance of all elevators located at the City Building, the City parking garage, the Richmond Sanitary Intermediate Pump Building, and the Richmond Sanitary Laboratory Building for a monthly fee of$836.02. This contract will be in effect, March 1, 2022 to March 1, 2026. Mr.Evans moved to approve, supported by Ms.Palmer. Upon a vote viva voce,the motion carried. CHANGE ORDERS • CHANGE ORDER NO. 9 TO CONTRACT NO. 62-2020 — R-41306 — BUTLER FAIRMAN & SEUFERT -WHITEWATER GORGE CONNECTOR TRAIL Because of material delays of the cable railing fence the completion date needs to be extended 38 days. There is no change in cost. Mr.Evans moved to approve, supported by Ms. Palmer.Upon a vote viva voce,the motion carried. ADDENDUMS -None RESOLUTIONS Board of Works Minutes February 17,2022 • RESOLUTION NO. 3-2022 — AUTHORIZING THE GRANT OF TEMPORARY RIGHT-OF-WAY EASEMENTS This is for a temporary construction right-of way easements on two properties owned by the City. The easements,parcels 7 and 10, are located along North"A" Street/US 40 West. Parcel 7 is located on the SE corner of North"A" and 6th Street and parcel 10 is located on the SW corner of North "A" and 5th Street. The temporary easements are needed for the INDOT US 40 West road rehabilitation and traffic signal replacement project. The City will be compensated $1,000.00 for each easement. Mr. Evans moved to approve, supported by Ms. Palmer. Upon a vote viva voce,the motion carried.
