MINUTES OF THE CROSBY PROPERTY COMMITTEE

1) Chair Joe Rego called the meeting to order at 11 : 31 a . m .
2) Joe declared that a quorum is present
3 ) ThereWere no public comments
4 ) Motion to approve May 18 , 2021 meeting minutes by Peter Lombardi , seconded by Cynthia
Bingham . Approved 4-Yes O - No
5 ) PROPERTY MANAGERS REPORT : Brain Locke : The cottage and bungalow will be occupied by June 3rd
and June 51" respectively . Brian has received positive feedback so far . Not supplying linens this year
has not been an issue . The area around the cottages is now secure with fencing and signposts ,
The last major project to be completed is the beehive on the back of the house , Brian Daley will fix the
gutter when the bees have been eradicated $
Brian will wait until the end of the fiscal year to begin the gutter replacement ,
Brian reported that maintenance on the mansion is continuing and he is handling Saturday turnover
duties ,
Contractor, Brian Daley is working on the 31d cottage plans , He will not begin work until the end of July
2021 .

6) SIGN UPDATE : Joni spoke to Joe Reese at Cape Craft Signs In Harwich . He gave a quote of $ 500 to
$ 2 , 000 for a sign . She will speak to him again with specifics on what the sign will read and send him a
drawing of the specifications we will require ,
We need to send drawings to Sarah at the Building Department and the Brewster Historical .Committee
will decide if the sign Is appropriate . Joe will send a sketch with dimensions to Joni . Then we need to
get It on the agenda for the committee .
7) FRIENDS REPORT ; A meeting was held with some of the " Friends" group . Discussion Included ;
workdays, recruitment, docent training, open houses, pricing and parking . The price .for admission to
the Open Houses will remain at $ 5 , free for children under 12 . Private Tours will be available for $ 10-
$ 20 per person ,
Peter Lombardi stated that any correspondence regarding the mansion needs to be sent to the Crosby
Committee, not Brian exclusively .
There are no Town of Brewster Covid restrictions starting in July .
8 ) CPC REPORT ; Brian Locke , Cate O' Neil , and Joe Rego met to write the application for CPC Funding ,
They looked at the last application from 2009 for reference . They also reached out to groups for letters
of support i . e . Seascape East, Selectboard , Brewster Historical Committee, Tim Whelan , Jeanine at
Cape Rep ,
Peter reminded the writers that Historic Preservation within the application is very important . The
projects listed must hit the Historic Preservation Criteria ,
Discussion continued on what points need to be in each section of the application . Peter also
suggested that we expand the completion date for the projects . The CPC money is not fiscal year
dependent ,
The mansion is on the Mass Historical Register but not on the Federal Register .
The timeline for receiving possible funds would be December 2021 if approved at the November Town
Meeting .
The application is due July 1, 2021 and must be sent to Beth Devine . ( Secretary for the CPC Board )

Joe, Brian, and Cate will meet to revise the application after said suggestions during this meeting and
then submit to the CPC Committee ,
9 ) NEW BUSINESS ; No new business .
