Thank you Volunteers! April is National Volunteer Recognition month and on April 23r,, the Council on Aging will host our
annual Volunteer Celebration in honor of those who provide volunteer service to the Senior Center and to the Watertown
Food Pantry. We are most grateful to all of our volunteers who dedicate their time to helping others.
On April 10th, we will be hosting our Armenian Culture and Conversation event. Join us for a morning of history, music and
delicious food. You won't want to miss it! Want to visit Alaska without leaving Watertown? On April 161h, our Program
Services Assistant Margie Wayne will share her recent cruise experience via photos and anecdotes.
The ever -popular Public Safety mornings continue on Thursday, April 25th with Captain Bill Maietta of the Watertown Fire
Department and on the 2n, and 41h Tuesdays with Police Chief Michael Lawn and Captain Ray Dupuis. If you have a green
thumb, we are seeking volunteers to help prepare our garden for spring and summer. We hope you will join us.
Finally, the staff has been working with the Council on Aging Board about making improvements in service delivery. Please
be patient with us as time slots for activities are adjusted, program offerings are changed and policies are implemented for
the benefit of all. Do not hesitate to reach out to me with your concerns. Thank you!

THE SENIOR CENTER BOOK CLUB
WHEN.- Wednesday, Apri/17at920. WHERE. -
Senior Center, 31 Marshall St. J of n us to
discuss: Pride And Prejudice byJane
Austin. Copies of the book are available
at the Watertown Free Public Library.
Since its immediate success in 1813, Pride 94
and Prejudice has remained one of the
most popular novels in the English
language. Jane Austen called this brilliant work
"her own daring child" and its vivacious heroine,
Elizabeth Benner, "as delightful a creature as ever
appeared in print." The romantic clash between the
opinionated Elizabeth and her proud beau, Mr.
Darcy, is a splendid performance of civilized
sparring. And Jane Austen's radiant wit sparkles as
her characters dance a delicate quadrille of
flirtation and intrigue, making this book the most
superb comedy of manners of Regency England.
