BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE
CITY OF RICHMOND. INDIANA.OCTOBER 7. 1993
1 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met at 9 a.m. Thursday, October 7,
2 1993, in the Municipal Building in said City. Chairperson Janet Hibner presided with Earnest Jarvis and Dennis
3 Grimes in attendance.The following business was had to-wit:

5 APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF SEPTEMBER 30.1993

7 The minutes of the previous meeting were not approved as Jarvis stated he had not had an opportunity to read
8 them. The minutes were deferred until the next meeting.

10 CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT

12 Claims submitted by City Controller Dennis Grimes totaled $1,776,538.71, of which the major portion was
13 $1,200,00 payable to the City of Richmond, a temporary loan from the Sanitary District to the City's General
14 Fund. Additionally, $75,000 for group health insurance claims and $110,044 payable to Contracters United for
15 contract paving for the City with the balance going for supplies,contractual services, payroll and payroll taxes.
16 Grimes moved to accept the claims,second by Jarvis and the motion was carried on a unanimous voice vote,

20 A. A handicapped parking space renewal request was read by Jarvis for Janet Trimble at North C
21 Street. Since there were no changes from last year,Jarvis recommended approval, second by Grimes
22 and the motion was carried on a unanimous voice vote.

24 CONTRACTS

26 Grimes said one bid had been received at its September 30 meeting and that was from Tom Ruble &
27 Sons Truck Sales at$21,750. Studebaker-Buick indicated they did not wish to bid. Jarvis said the bid
28 and price were within the specifications and had been reviewed by Purchasing Manager Vicki Stevens,
29 and Street Division Manager Bill Smith. Grimes moved to accept the bid, second by Jarvis and the
30 motion was carried on a unanimous voice vote.

32 CURB CUT PETITION

34 Jarvis stated he had a curb cut/drivway petition from Color Box, Inc. at 623 South G Street which will be located
35 at the back of the building, north of the railroad tracks. Since all departments had checked the curbcut and had
36 no objections, Jarvis recommended approval, second by Grimes, and the motion was carried on a unanimous
37 voice vote.

39 OTHER MATTERS

41 Chairperson Hibner presented a Resolution recommending a Residential Parking Permit Area No. 9 on both
42 sides of South West 1st Street from South West G to South West J Streets. She moved it be approved and
43 submitted to Common Council along with an ordinance at its next meeting October 18 , second by Grimes and
44 the motion was carried on a unanimous voice vote.

46 Grimes moved to accept the September Crime Report from the Richmond Police Department as presented,
47 second by Jarvis and the motion was carried on a unanimous voice vote.

51 There being no further business, on a motion duly made by Grimes, second by Jarvis and carried by a
52 unanimous voice vote,the meeting was adjourned.
