April 30, 2014
Mayor Blum called the Special Meeting to order at 7:09a.m.

4. NEW BUSINESS
A APRIL 2014 LAW ENFORCEMENT SUMMARY
Representatives of the Los Angeles County Sheriffs Department reviewed the crime
statistics and Sheriffs activities for the month of March and April, 2014.
Representatives of the Los Angeles County Sheriffs Department answered Council
questions regarding the crime statistics and Sheriffs activities.
5. COMMUNICATIONS
A ARREST AND RELEASE PROBLEMS
City Council and the Los Angeles County Sheriffs Department representatives discussed
various activities and measures being taken to reduce the crime in the area.
B. GOLDEN MOTEL NUISANCE ABATEMENT
An update was provided on the status of Golden Motel Nuisance Abatement and measures
taken to reduce crime in the area.
C. NEIGHBORHOOD/AREA WATCH CAPTAIN(S) RECOGNITION
City Council discussed the idea of an annual recognition for the Neighborhood/Area Watch
leaders/members.
D. NEIGHBORHOOD/AREA WATCH STATISTICS AND QUESTIONS
Interim City Manager Penman directed staff to look into signs that are not visible located in-
between the Temple City's borders and County's jurisdiction.
City Council directed staff to organize a soft launch of the street sweeping signs by issuing
warnings prior to issuing citations for the violations posted.
Councilmember Vizcarra left the meeting at 8:09a.m.
The meeting lost quorum at 8:09a.m.
6. ADJOURNMENT
The Special Meeting was adjourned at 8:18a.m.
