A Regular Meeting of the Mayor and Council of the Borough of RaULAR M 7M
Carteret was called to order by Mayor Daniel J. Reiman, on Jamry 28, 2016
Thursday, January 28, 2016, 6:00 P.M., Council Chambers,
Memorial Municipal Building, 61 Cooke Avenue, Carteret, New
Jersey.
Upon Individual Roll Call Vote the Following were Noted Present: ICLL CALL
Councilmember Vincent Bellino

" Randy Krum
• Susan Naples
• Joseph W. Sitarz
Noted Absent was Councilmember Jorge Diaz.
Also noted present was Kathleen M. Barney, Municipal Clerk and
Robert J. Bergen, Law Director.
The meeting was opened with a Minute of Silent Prayer and the Silent Prayer/Plote of
Pledge of Allegiance led by Mayor Daniel J. Reiman. Allegiance
The Clerk stated that on January 4, 2016 the 2016 Annual Notice SDUEvENF OF MEIN
was mailed to The Home News Tribune, The Star Ledger and NDITCu
posted on the Bulletin Board. Notice was published in The Home
News Tribune on January 5, 2016 and The Star Ledger on January
6, 2016.

Upon MMS &C by Councilmembers Sitarz and Krum and Public H o
unanimous affirmative vote of the five (5) Councilmembers
present the Mayor declared the Public Hearing to be opened.
There were no comments or objections from the public.
There being no further comments or objections to the Ordinance, Ilariug Closed
the Mayor declared the Public Hearing to be closed upon MMS &C
by Councilmembers Krum and Naples and unanimous affirmative
vote of the five (5) Councilmembers present.
Upon MMS &C by Councilmembers Sitarz and Krum

unanimous affirmative vote of the five (5) Councilmembers
present, the public portion of Resolutions /Agenda Items and New

Nhyor Reimer Mayor Reiman explained that Resolution #16 -20 is a per diem
appointment for the acting Purchasing Agent.
Phyor Reim Mayor Reiman explained that Resolution #16 -24 is for the
appointment of the Police Director.

Mayor Reiman then asked for a motion on the Consent Agenda. OSISENP FM\D\

AEC= were Adopted. Upon Individual Roll Call Vote, Councilmembers
Bellino, DiMascio, Krum, Naples and Sitarz voted in the
Affirmative. Councilmember Diaz was noted Absent.
PAV4NF CF Upon MMS &C by Councilmembers Sitarz and Krum, all bills
BILLS appearing on the prepared list, property audited and signed, were
ordered to be paid. Councilmembers, Bellino, DiMascio, Krum,
Naples and Sitarz voted in the Affirmative. Councilmember Diaz
was noted Absent.
O1+EIEES COMMITTEES:
BUILDINGS & GROUNDS — Committee Chairperson Naples
reported cleaning up the snow around the buildings and assisting
the other departments.
FINANCE & ADMINISTRATION: Mayor Reiman reported progress
in the absence of Committee Chairperson Diaz. '
FIRE & DOMESTIC PREPAREDNESS — Committee Chairperson Krum
reported progress in the Fire Department and he welcomed back
Councilmember Sitarz.
PARKS, RECREATION & PUBLIC PROPERTY: Committee
Chairperson Bellino reported progress in the department and
went on to say how much snow we had but it was stackable and
the roads are passable.
POLICE: Committee Chairperson Sitarz reported progress and
commented that he missed plowing the snow this year.
Mayor said we have the swearing of the Police Director tomorrow
morning at eleven o'clock.

PUBLIC WORKS: Committee Chairperson DiMascio reported the Olff= Coat:
guys did a great job plowing .
BOARD OF EDUCATION: Committee Chairperson Naples reported
the Columbus School book fair runs through tomorrow and she
congratulated, on behalf of everyone present, Mr. Ajmer Johal
who was appointed unanimously last night to the Board of
Education. He has been serving as a businessman in our
community for many years and always gives back to our children.
After no further discussion, upon MMS &C by Councilmembers ffiia w
Bellino and Krum and unanimous affirmative vote of the five (5)
Councilmembers present, the meeting was Adjourned at
approximately 6:05 p.m.
