SUBJECT: PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION ACTIONS -MEETING OF APRIL 16, 2014 RECOMMENDATION: The City Council is requested to receive and file the Parks and Recreation Commission actions from their meeting of April16, 2014. BACKGROUND: On April 16, 2014, the Parks and Recreation Commission held their regularly scheduled meeting. ANALYSIS: Following is a summary of actions taken at the April 16, 2014 Parks and Recreation Commission meeting: 1. ROLL CALL: Present: Commissioner-Fish , Lopez, Rosso, Vice-Chairman Haddad, Chairman Georgine Absent: Commissioner -None Excused: Commissioner -None 2. PRESENTATIONS The Parks and Recreation Commission recognized and presented awards to the City's Boys and Girls A, B, and CAll-Star Basketball Teams. City Council May 6, 2014 Page 2 of 2 3. CONSENT CALENDAR The Parks and Recreation Commission approved the minutes from their Regular Meeting of February 19, 2014 and received and filed the monthly reports for February and March 2014. 4. NEW BUSINESS A. REQUEST FOR RESERVED USE OF GRASS AREAS AT TEMPLE CITY PARK AND CONSIDERATION OF A FEE WAIVER FOR RESERVED USE OF THE PERFORMING ARTS PAVILION BY THE FAITH UNITED METHODIST CHURCH FOR AN EASTER EVENT AND EGG HUNT ON APRIL 20, 2014 The Commission approved the requests. B. REQUEST FROM TEMPLE CITY YOUTH FOOTBALL (TCYF) FOR RESERVED USE OF THE ATHLETIC FIELDS AT LIVE OAK PARK FOR PRE-SEASON CONDITI ONING PRACTICE APRIL 21 -JUNE 25, 2014 The Commission approved the request. C. PRIORIZATION OF PARKS AND OPEN SPACE MASTER PLAN ACTION PLAN MATRIX The Commission was requested to review and prioritize the Action Plan Matrix within th e recently adopted Parks and Open Space Master Plan. The Commission provided input and directed staff to incorporate their comments into a prioritized list for further discussion at their next regular meeting. 5. MATTERS FROM CITY OFFICIALS A. The Commission received and filed the Parks and Recreation Director's Report for April 2014. CONCLUSION: The City Council is requested to receive and file this report. FISCAL IMPACT: This item does not have an impact on the Fiscal Year (FY) 2013-14 City Budget.
