MARCH 19. 1992 1 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met at 9 a.m. Thursday, March 19, 2 1992, in the Municipal Building in said City.Thomas Milligan presided with Earnest Jarvis and Dennis Grimes in 3 attendance. The following business was had to-wit: 4 5 APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF MARCH 12,1992 6 7 The minutes of the March 12, 1992 meeting were approved on a motion by Jarvis,second by Grimes and with a 8 unanimous voice vote carried. 9 10 CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT 11 12 Claims for payment were submitted by the City Controller in the amounts of$1,452.00 for special investigations 13 by the Richmond Police Department;$318.75 to Star Bank for Richmond Sanitary District Bond issue;$3,070 for 14 interest on the 1965 and 1981 Sanitary District Bond coupons; and $239,430.43 for supplies and other 15 contractual services.The claims were approved through a motion by Jarvis,second by Grimes and a unanimous 16 voice vote. 17 18 19 PUBLIC REQUESTS AND COMMENTS 20 21 A. A curb cut petition at 1 N.W. 15th St. was approved on a motion/by Jarvis, second by Grimes and 22 carried by a unanimous voice vote. 23 24 B. Upon recommendation of the Richmond Police Department the Board approved the route for the St. 25 Jude Children's Hospital Bike-A-Thon on a motion by Jarvis, second by Grimes and a unanimous voice 26 vote. 27 28 C. On a recommendation by Chief James Sticco of the Richmond Fire Department the Board approved 29 the use of the parking lot at No. 1 Fire Station as a check point for the March of Dimes Walk-A-Thon 30 through a motion by Grimes,second by Jarvis and carried by a unanimous voice vote. 31 32 D. Handicapped parking requests approved on motions by Jarvis, seconds by Grimes and carried by a 33 unanimous voice vote included: 34 35 1. Blanche Chaney at 1227 Boyer St. 36 2.Zelma M.Jarvis at 919 S. 7th St. 37 3. Kathleen M.Asfalg at 432 S. 5th St. 38 4. Betty L. Hale at 443 S. 7th St. 39 5. Loretta Seal at 2223 Grand Blvd. 40 6. Deward De Fevers at 120A S. 13th St. 41 7. Keith Duane Jack at 22 N.21st. St.through May 1992 42 43 E. On a recommendation by Chief Dennis Rice of the Richmond Police Department the Board 44 approved the promotion of Gerard Longnecker from probationary patrolman to patrolman through a 45 motion by Grimes,second by Jarvis and carried on a unanimous voice vote. 46 47 F. Grimes gave a brief update of the renovation of the property at 415 S. 10th St. which the Board 48 acted upon January 16. At that time the owner was in violation of the safe building code. The new 49 owner,Anthony Basso, has been in contact with Dana Leas, housing inspector,who reported that work 50 is progressing at the site on schedule. She said Basso is aware of the April 23 deadline for the work to 51 be completed. 52 53 54 REPORTS 55 56 A. A report submitted by Fire Prevention Chief Wayne Jackson outlining activities for February 1992 57 was approved on a motion by Jarvis, second by Grimes and carried by a unanimous voice vote. 58 59 60 OTHER MATTERS 61 62 A. Milligan reminded Board members that the next meeting, Thursday, March 26, will be at 4 p.m. in 63 McGuire Hall on Hub Etchison Parkway.
