AWARDING BID FOR CHROME PARK
SPRAY PAD PROJECT
WHEREAS, the Borough has publicly advertised for the receipt of bids for the Chrome Park
Spray Pad Project; and
WHEREAS, the Borough has solicited and received one (1) bid proposal for the Chrome Park
Spray Pad Project as follows:
Base Bid
w /Alt. A2 -1
1. Picemo- Giordano Construction, LLC $ 211,249.00
WHEREAS, Pieemo- Giordano Construction, LLC, of Kenilworth, NJ has submitted the lowest
bid for said contract as evidenced by the response on file with the Borough's Purchasing
Department and with the Borough Engineer; and
WHEREAS, the Borough Engineer has reviewed the above bid proposal and has recommended
the award of a contract to Picemo- Giordano Construction, LLC, in a total amount not to exceed
$211,249.00, per attached award letter; and
WHEREAS, the Chief Financial Officer has certified that funds are or will be available for said
purpose.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the Borough of
Carteret as follows:
I. That the appropriate Borough Officials are hereby authorized to enter into a
contract with Picemo- Giordano Construction, LLC, of Kenilworth, N.J. for
the Project for the sum of $211,249.00 in accordance in all respects with the
request for proposals and bid on same.
2. That a copy of this Resolution shall be forwarded to the Borough's
Purchasing Department and Borough Engineer.
3. That the aforementioned award of bid is contingent upon formal approval
from the New Jersey Department of Labor, Division of Wage and Hour
Compliance.

On Wednesday, March 9, 2016, the following bid was received for the Chrome Park Spray Pad
Project. Enclosed is a bid summary for the project. The following bids were received:

Engineer's Estimate
$227,049,00
The lowest responsive bidder for the project is Picemo- Giordano Construction, LLC, 200 Market
Street, Kenilworth, NJ 07033 who provided a bid (base bid with Alt. A2 -1) in the amount of
$211,249.00.
Based on their work references provided, Picemo- Giordano Construction, LLC has worked on other
similar projects for various municipalities within the past several years.
We have reviewed the bid documents provided and all required forms and document have been
provided by Picemo- Giordano Construction, LLC.
Based on their low bid and past experience installing water spray park equipment, we recommend
the Borough award a contract to Picemo- Giordano Construction, LLC in the amount of
$211,249.00.
Award should be contingent upon certification of funds by the Chief Financial Officer and review of
the bid documents by the Borough Attomey.
