A RESOLUTION ENDORSING THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A COMMUNITY
HEALTH CENTER IN MOAB
WHEREAS, the City of Moab has a significant number of uninsured,
undermsued and medically underserved residents; and,
WHEREAS, a Community Health Center would help address the needs of such
residents;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Moab Governing Body that
the City of Moab heartily endorses and vigorously supports the establishment of a
community health center (CHC) in Moab to serve the residents of Grand County and
others m need of basic medical care. This Moab -based CHC will be made possible
through a partnership arrangement with the Green River Medical Center and by funding
from the Health Resources and Services Administration, U S Department of Health and
Human Services. Such a CHC will be targeted to the uninsured, undennsured, and
medically underserved
PASSED, ADOPTED AND APPROVED by the Governing Body of the City of
Moab in open session this 8's day of Apnl 2003. This resolution shall take effect
immediately upon passage
