Location : REMOTE PARTICIPATION
Remote Participants : Chair Belinda Eyestone ; Vice Chair G . Howard Hayes ; Deputy Assessor
James Gallagher
Call to Order : Chair Eyestone called the meeting to order at 4 : 35 pm .
Declaration of a Quorum : A quorum was present. All members were participating remotely
and confirmed that they could hear each other .
Meeting Participation Statement : Mr . Gallagher read the following meeting participation
statement : This meeting will be conducted by remote participation pursuant to Chapter 20 of the
Acts of 2021 . No in-person meeting attendance will be permitted . If the Town is unable to live
broadcast this meeting, a record of the proceedings will be provided on the Town website as
soon as possible .
Mr . Gallagher was monitoring the public comment/question email address and confirmed that no
questions or comments had been received .
Regular Session
• Report of the Deputy Assessor : Mr . Gallagher gave a status update on the FY2022
Revaluation Certification . Mr . Gallagher also announced that the Senior Department
Assistant, Erika Mawn, has accepted a promotion within the Town of Brewster . Mr .
Gallagher thanked and congratulated Ms . Mawn. The Board of Assessors echoed Mr .
Gallagher ' s thanks . Mr . Gallagher reported that the hiring process is ongoing and the
position should be filled soon .
• Reorganization of the Board of Assessors : Ms . Eyestone made the motion to keep the
current organization structure — Belinda Eyestone — Chair, G . Howard Hayes — Vice Chair,
Diane Salomone — Clerk. Mr. Hayes seconds the motion. Roll call vote : Hayes — aye ;
Eyestone — aye; approved unanimously .
• Uncollectible Motor Vehicle Excise Abatements :
o FY2005 and FY2006 to clear the levy : Mr. Hayes made a motion to abate the
uncollectible FY2005 and FY2006 Motor Vehicle Excise to clear the levy in
accordance with the Treasurer/Collector memo dated June 1 , 2021 . Ms . Eyestone
seconds the motion. Roll call vote : Hayes — aye ; Eyestone — aye ; approved
unanimously .

o Deceased taxpayers : Mr. Hayes made a motion to abate the uncollectible Motor
Vehicle and Boat excise tax bills for deceased taxpayers in accordance with the
Treasurer/Collector memo dated June 1 , 2021 . Ms . Eyestone seconds the motion .
Roll call vote : Hayes — aye ; Eyestone — aye; approved unanimously .
• Review and approve Regular Session Meeting Minutes — May 11 , 2021 : Mr . Hayes
moved to approve the May 11 , 2021 regular session minutes as presented. Ms. Eyestone
seconded the motion. Roll call vote : Hayes — Aye ; Eyestone - Aye ; approved unanimously .
• Matters Not Reasonably Anticipated by the Chair : None
• Next Meeting : July 20 , 2021
• Executive Session (To comply with or act under the authority of any general or special law
or federal grant-in- aid requirements : MGL Chap 59 Sec . 60 and MGL Chap . 214 Sec . 1B ;
To consider the purchase , exchange lease or value of real property if the chair declares that
an open meeting may have a detrimental effect on the negotiating position of the public
body) : At 4 : 46pm Mr. Hayes moved to enter Executive. Session for the reasons noted above,
not to return to regular session . Ms . Eyestone seconded the motion . Roll call vote : Hayes —
Aye ; Eyestone — aye ; approved unanimously .
