PUBLIC RECORDS REQUEST
To: Records custodian,
The Palm Beach Post is pursuing sales tax project data from all governments in Palm Beach County.
Pursuant to Article I, section 24 of the Florida Constitution and Chapter 119, Florida Statutes, I
request copies of the following records:
1. Records describing all projects to be financed wholly or in part by the proceeds from the 2016
sales tax referendum, including the name and location of each project, the estimated cost, a
description of the work to be done and/or the product to be provided.
2. Of those projects, we request records describing projects underway, including name of the project,
amount of sales surtax funding expended as of the fulfillment of this request and expected project
completion date.
3. Any spreadsheet, database and/or file document (if applicable) used to track the 2016 sales tax
referendum proceeds and expenditures.
Please do not exclude any data in your records, databases or spreadsheets unless specifically
exempted under public records law even if not listed in the request above.
If you deny this request in whole or in part, I request that you advise me IN WRITING, as required
by section 119.07(1)(e) and (f), Fla. Stat., of the particular statutory exemption upon which you are
relying and that you state with particularity the reasons for your conclusion that the record is
exempt. If an asserted exemption applies to only a portion of a record, please delete the portion that
you claim is exempt and release the remainder of the record as required by section 119.07(1)(d).
If the requested records are kept in an electronic record keeping system, then please produce the
records in electronic form as required by section 119.01(f). A PDF file of an existing electronic
document is not acceptable. If the records are maintained only in paper form, then please produce
them in that form. If the records are maintained in some combination of electronic and paper form,
then please contact me and explain which records are kept in which medium so that I can decide
which is the most expeditious manner of accessing the records.
The Palm Beach Post will pay for the “actual cost of duplication” of the public records as defined by
Florida Statutes, section 119.011(1). Please advise me of these costs before taking any billable
steps.
