A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
AUTHORIZING THE 2013/2014 LYNWOOD COMMUNITY WEIGHT LOSS
CHALLENGE
WHEREAS, City Council of the City of Lynwood would like to promote
community health, community building activities, charitable and similar activities
in Lynwood that yield an appropriate public purpose, consistent with the
provisions of the California Constitution, Art. XVI, sec. 6; and
WHEREAS, The use of public funds for the provision of a community-
wide Weight Loss Challenge program meets the criteria set forth in the City's
Donation/Fee Waiver Policy.
NOW, THEREFORE THE MEMBERS OF THE LYNWOOD CITY
COUNCIL DO HEREBY FIND, DETERMINE, ORDER AND RESOLVE AS
FOLLOWS:
•
Section 1. The City Council hereby finds the above recitals true and
correct and that the use of public funds for the provision of a community-wide
weight loss challenge meets the public purpose of the City promoting health and
welfare of its residents. As such, the City Council approves the reallocation of
100% of registration fees to be used as a prize fund for the 2013-14 Lynwood
Community Weight Loss Challenge.
Section 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of
this Resolution.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 19th day of November, 2013.
