HomeMy Public PortalAbout03-10-2022 THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND,INDIANA, MARCH 10,2022 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana,met at 5:00 P.M., March 10, 2022, in the Council Chambers the Municipal Building, 50 North 5th Street, Richmond, Indiana. CALL TO ORDER President Robinson called the meeting to order and the following business was conducted: ROLL CALL Board members present were: Vicki Robinson and Matt Evans. Absent was Emily Palmer. Also in attendance were Kim Vessels,Assistant City Attorney; Monica Burns, Deputy City Clerk; Battalion Chief/Interim Assistant Fire Chief Tim Brown; Greg Stiens, Director of Public Works and Engineering; Ian Vanness, Director of Infrastructure and Development; Lucille Mellen, Heat Relief Coordinator; Derek Hill, Director of Code Enforcement; Sherrie Richey, Code Enforcement; and Media. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Mr. Evans moved to approve the minutes of March 3, 2022, supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce,the motion carried. CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT Mr. Evans moved to approve the Claims for Payment for March 11, 2022 in the amount of Two Hundred Forty Seven Thousand One Hundred Seventy One Dollars and ninety eight cents ($247,171.98), supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. PAYROLL CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT Mr. Evans moved to approve the Payroll Claims for Payment for March 9, 2022 in the amount of Seven Hundred Fifty Six Thousand Four Hundred Seventy Four Dollars and forty seven cents ($756,474.47), supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce,the motion carried. Mr.Evans moved to approve a special check run for March 7,2022 in the amount of Eighty Two Thousand Eight Hundred Dollars and no cents($82,800.00), supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce,the motion carried. There being nothing for against the Public Hearing was closed. BID AWARDS -None Board of Works Minutes March 10,2022 CONTRACTS • CONTRACT NO. 153-2021 —LARKWOOD GREENE ENTERPRISES, LLC This contract was for the purchase of one (1) 2022 Ford F150 Pickup Truck for use by the Fire Department. Contract needs to be rescinded due to unavailability of product. Mr. Evans moved to rescind, supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. • CONTRACT NO. 205-2021 —LARKWOOD GREENE ENTERPRISES, LLC This contract is for the purchase of one (1) 2020 Ford F150 Pickup Truck for use by the Fire Department. Not to exceed $35,235.00 Mr. Evans moved to approve, supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. • CONTRACT NO. 34-2022—RICHMOND POWER& LIGHT This contract is for the installation of three new standard street lights on Devon Drive. The City will pay Richmond Power & Light a yearly rate of$757.08 for a period of 15 years for maintaining these street lights. Mr. Evans moved to approve, supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. • CONTRACT NO. 41-2022—STRYKER SALES,LLC This contract will provide the sole source of annual maintenance, inspection, and repair of medical cots and stair chairs for the Fire Department. Not to exceed $6,260.30 Mr. Evans moved to approve, supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. • CONTRACT NO. 42-2022—IRONGATE CREATIVE This contract is for professional design services for final document design and layout of Richmond Climate Action Plan. Not to exceed $7,200.00 Mr. Evans moved to approve, supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. Board of Works Minutes March 10,2022 • CONTRACT NO. 43-2022—ERIC MEJIA This contract is for live Spanish interpretation by Eric Mejia at two (2) in-person public meetings for the "Beat the Heat"program. Meetings that will be held on 03/23//2022 and 04/19/2022. Not to exceed $30.00 an hour Mr. Evans moved to approve, supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. CHANGE ORDERS -None ADDENDUMS • ADDENDUM NO. 1 TO CONTRACT NO. 18-2021 —LAWN PLUS, LLC The City will retain Contractor to continue to provide services in connection with certain lawn maintenance services, including, but not limited to, weed control, fertilization, and as-needed grub control for the lawn and grounds, located at the City Building as described in the original contract. The total service amount is $1,978.50 Mr. Evans moved to approve, supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. • ADDENDUM NO. 1 TO CONTRACT NO. 37-2021 — REDDOG ENTERPRISES, INC. The City wishes to continue to retain Contractor to continue to provide mowing services for certain nuisance properties for the City Code Enforcement Department, as set forth within the scope of the original contract. Mr. Evans moved to approve, supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. RESOLUTIONS • RESOLUTION NO. 4-2022 This resolution will authorize the grant of supplemental easements on three City properties to American Electric Power. The City will receive compensation totaling $11,190.00. Mr. Evans moved to approve, supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. PETITIONS -None Board of Works Minutes March 10,2022 MISCELLANEOUS • RESIGNATION LETTER—RICHMOND FIRE DEPARTMENT This request was removed from the agenda.
