HomeMy Public PortalAbout09-08-1988 BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, SEPTEMBER 8, 1988 1 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session September 8, 2 1988 at the hour of 9:00 A.M. in the Municipal Building in said City. Mr. Barden presided with Ms. Hauptstueck 3 and Mr.Willis in attendance. Absent:None. The following business was had to-wit: 4 5 Mr.Barden welcomed Ms.Carrie Hauptstueck as a new member of the Board. 6 7 APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF SEPTEMBER 1, 1988 8 9 Ms. Hauptstueck moved to approve the minutes of the previous meeting as prepared,seconded by Mr. Barden 10 and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. 11 12 APPROVAL OF CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT 13 14 Ms. Hauptstueck moved to approve claims in the amount of 571,869.91 for payment, seconded by Mr. Barden 15 and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. 16 17 IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION NO. 1-1988 18 19 Mr. Barden made a motion to table improvement resolution no. 1-1988 until next week seconded by Mr.Willis 20 and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. 21 22 PUBLIC REQUESTS AND COMMENTS 23 24 Shrine Circus Parade 25 26 Mr. Bill Delk requested permission to have a circus parade on September 18, 1989 at 12:00 P.M. The 27 parade route will begin at the Wayne County Fairground on Salisbury Rd. and proceed south to Peacock 28 Rd. then east to NW 18th St.then south to Main St. then west to Salisbury Rd. and North back to the 29 fairgrounds. Capt.Williams stated the Wayne Co.Sheriff Dept.will help with traffic control 30 31 Ms. Hauptstueck moved to approve the parade request as presented seconded by Mr.Willis and on a 32 unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. 33 34 TABLED ITEMS 35 36 Capt Williams stated that he cannot approve the request from last meeting for handicapped parking at 37 2041/2 North 7th St. because it is only a temporary situation. 38 39 Mr.Wiillis moved to deny the request for handicapped parking at 204 1/2 No 7th St. Seconded by Mr. 40 Baden and on a unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. 41 42 43 DEPARTMENT REQUESTS AND COMMENTS 44 45 Mr. Barden stated that the Veterans Council of Wayne County will sponsor a balloon release at the 46 Freedom Fountain to honor Viet Nam MIA's on September 18, 1988 at 11:00 a.m. 47 48 Mr. Barden announced that Board of Works meeting for September 22, 1988 will be cancelled due to 49 officials attending the IACT conference. 50 51 52 53 ADJOURNMENT 54 • 55 There being no further business,on a motion duly made, seconded and passed the meeting was adjourned. 56 57 58 59 60 61 Kenneth E.
