PROFESSIONAL SERVICES CONTRACT FOR
ENGINEERING SERVICES
WHEREAS, there exists a need for professional services to provide general
engineering; and
WHEREAS, engineering services are a professional service exempt from the
requirements of competitive bidding pursuant to NJ. SA 40A:I 1-5 (1) (a); and
WHEREAS, the Local Finance Officer has certified that funds are available.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and Council of the
Borough of Carteret does hereby approve the appointment of Killam Assiociates
at a maximum cost not to exceed $10,000.00 billable as per attached contract.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and Borough Clerk are hereby
authorized to execute said contract.
IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that the contract is awarded without competitive
bids in accordance with N.J.S.A. 40A: 11-5(1)(a) due to the specialized nature of
the services provided.
IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that a notice of this action shall be published in the
Home News Tribune on June22, 1999.
Adopted this 17th day of June, 1999
and certified as a true copy of the original
on June 18, 1999.
