AUTHORIZING THE CARTERET REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY TO
ACQUIRE BLOCK 222, LOT 3, COMMONLY KNOWN AS 21 WASHINGTON
AVENUE
WHEREAS, the Borough of Carteret (`Borough') is engaged in extensive and ongoing
revitalization and redevelopment efforts within the Borough; and
WHEREAS, as part of these efforts the Borough desires the Carteret Redevelopment
Agency to acquire title to certain real property identified as Block 222, Lot 3, on the
Official Tax Map of the Borough, and commonly known as 21 Washington Avenue,
Carteret, New Jersey 07008.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the Borough
Carteret as follows:
1. That Carteret Redevelopment Agency is hereby authorized to acquire title as
appropriate to the above - referenced real property.
2. That appropriate Borough Officials and its professional consultants are hereby
authorized and directed to take all necessary and proper action(s), including,
but not limited to, the execution of any documents and other writings and
things, all in furtherance of implementing the provisions of this authorizing
Resolution and effectuating the acquisition of the above- referenced real
property as provided for herein and with regard to any subsequent
redevelopment of the same.
3. That a copy of this Resolution be forwarded to Carteret Redevelopment
Agency and the Borough Attorney.
Adopted this 17' day of January, 2008 and
certified as a true copy of the original on
January 18'", 2008.
