Penman, Interim City Manager W Via: Geoffrey Starns, A ICP, Planning Manager By: Jennifer Venters, Planning Secretary SUBJECT: PLANNING COMMISSION ACTIONS-MEETING OF JUNE 10, 2014 RECOMMENDATION: The City Council is requested to receive and file actions of the Planning Commission from their meeting of June 10, 2014. BACKGROUND: On June 10, 2014, the Planning Commission held their regular meeting. ANALYSIS: The following is a summary of actions taken at the June 10, 2014, Planning Commission meeting: 1. ROLL CALL: Present: Commissioner-Curran, O'Leary, Vice-Chairman Leung, Chairman Cordes Absent: Commissioner -None Excused: Commissioner -Horton 2. CONSENT CALENDAR The Planning Commission approved the minutes from their Reg ular Meeting of May 13, 2014. City Council July 1, 2014 Page 2 of 3 3. UNFINISHED BUSINESS-None 4. NEW BUSINESS A. The Planning Commission approved a request for a residential subdivision to divide two lots into four condominium units located at 5212 and 5218 Noel Drive. The site is zoned high density residential (R-3) by the City's General Plan. B. The Planning Commission approved a request for a modification of an existing Conditional Use Permit to allow Sprint PCS to mount three additional cellular panel antennas and three additional remote radio units vertically to the rooftop of 9700 Las Tunas Drive. The property is designated East Commercial (EC) in the Downtown Specific Plan of the City's General Plan. C. The Planning Commission approved a Zone Variance to allow the construction of a two-car garage which will have an interior width of 19 feet 8 inches as opposed to the required width of 20 feet. The subject property is zoned low density residential (R-1) by the City's General Plan. D. COMMUNICATIONS Youth Committee Member Cynthia Yong updated the Planning Commission on the following items; their involvement in the Grand Opening (GO) Festival, the upcoming Youth Engage Conference, and availability of three open seats for the Youth Committee. E. MATTERS FROM CITY OFFICIALS City Attorney Murphy advised that the Planning Commission review the amended Fair Political Practices Commission (FPPC) laws regarding conflict of interest. F. UPDATE FROM THE PLANNING MANAGER Planning Manager Starns announced that the new Community Development Director shall begin employment on June 16, 2014, the next Planning Commission Meeting is scheduled June 24, 2014, and his last day of employment shall be July 3, 2014. G. ADJOURNMENT The Planning Commission meeting was adjourned at 8:23p.m. City Council July 1, 2014 Page 3 of 3 CONCLUSION: The City Council is requested to receive and file this report. FISCAL IMPACT: This item does not have an impact on the Fiscal Year (FY) 2013-14 City Budget.
