BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE
CITY OF RICHMOND,INDIANA, NOVEMBER 25,1987
1 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session November 25,
2 1987 at the hour of 9:00 A.M. in the Municipal Building in said City. Ms.Silberstein presided with Mr. Brown and
3 Mr.Willis in attendance. Absent: None. The following business was had to-wit:

5 CONTINUATION OF UNSAFE BUILDING HEARING

7 906 North I Street

9 Ms. Silberstein opened a continuation of an Unsafe Building Hearing on property located at 906 North I Street,
10 belonging to Oran Wilson, pursuant to an Order issued on October 7, 1987 with the Order stated the unsafe
11 building be wrecked and removed or repaired to meet minimum standards of City of Richmond Housing Code and
12 Building Code. The hearing had been continued for an interior inspection of the premises.

14 The Clerk administered the Oath to give testimony to Mr. Dennis Bronston.

16 Mr. Bronston informed the Board he was able to make an inspection of the interior of the premises and the
17 mechanical systems are not in tact and not operable. He said there was debris and materials stored throughout
18 the premises and evidence of a leak in the upstairs. Mr. Bronston said there was evidence of repairs having
19 been started at one time.

21 Mr. Bronston explained that he had spoken with Mr.Walt Chidester, Attorney for the Second National Bank, and
22 was informed that the property was in foreclosure proceedings. Mr. Chidester told Mr. Bronston that the bank
23 had a possible purchaser for the property with the understanding that the purchaser would comply with all City of
24 Richmond Building Codes.

26 Ms. Silberstein asked what stage the foreclosure was in and Mr. Bronston stated he did not know, but they do
27 have a prospective purchaser. Mr. Bronston also reported to the Board that the refrigerator had been removed
28 from the rear of the property.

30 Ms. Silberstein stated the Board can continue the hearing to a specific date and time in order to allow sufficient
31 time to hear from Second National Bank.

33 Ms. Silberstein asked if the premises was secured and Mr. Bronston stated it was not and he would contact the
34 Second National Bank to see if they will get the premises secured and if not he will ordered it secured.

36 Mr. Brown moved to continue the Unsafe Building Hearing on property located at 906 North I Street to January 7,
37 1988 at 9:00 AM,seconded by Mr.Willis and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried.

39 APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF NOVEMBER 19,1987

41 Wr. Willis moved to approve the minutes of the previous meeting as prepared, seconded by Mr. Brown and on
42 unanimous voice vote the motion was carried.

44 APPROVAL OF CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT

46 Mr. Brown moved to approve claims for payment in the amount of 159,141.56, seconded by Mr. Willis and on
47 unanimous voice vote the motion was carried.

59 Set Date for Regular Meeting of Board of Works-December 23.1987

61 Due to the Christmas Holidays, Mr. Brown moved to set the regular meeting of the Board of Public Works and
62 Safety on December 23, 1987 at 9:00 AM, seconded by Mr.Willis and on unanimous voice vote the motion was
63 carried.
