HomeMy Public PortalAbout12-18-1986 BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, DECEMBER 18, 1986 1 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in 2 regular session December 18, 1986 at the hour.of 9:00 A.M. in the Municipal Building 3 in said City. Ms. Silbertein presided with Mr. Brown and Mr. Willis in attendance. II 4 The following business was had to-wit: 5 6 APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF DECEMBER 11, 1986 AND DECEMBER 15, 1986, AS CORRECTED 7 8 Ms . Silberstein noted that on page 1, line 44 of the minute of December 11, 1986 9 it stated that the date to receive bids for gasoline and fuel oil was December 10 13, 1986 and it should read December 31, 1986. 11 12 Mr. Willis moved to approved the minute of December 11, 1986 and December 15, 13 1986 with the recommended correction, seconded by Mr. Brown and on unanimous voice 14 vote the motion was carried. 15 16 APPROVAL OF CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT 17 18 Mr. Brown moved to approve claims in the amount of 58,677.00 for payment, seconded 19 by Mr. Willis and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. 20 21 PUBLIC REQUESTS AND COMMENTS 22 _ 23 Request for Residential Handicapped Parking Space at 425 South 12th St. 24 25 The request of Mr. Everette Downing of 425 South 12th Street for a residential 26 handicapped parking space was presented to the Board. Mr. Downing has Permit 27 No. A02687 with an expiration date of January 4, 1988. 28 III 29 Captain Williams informed the Board that the request meets the guidelines for 30 residential handicapped parking. 31 32 Mr. Brown moved to approve a residential handicapped parking space for Mr. Everette 33 Downing at 425 South 12th Street, seconded by Mr. Willis and on unanimous voice 34 vote the motion was carried. 35 36 TABLED ITEMS 37 38 Jaycees Request - 1987 Rose City Grand Prix Go Kart Race 39 40 Ms. Silberstein stated that since there was no one in attendance from the Jaycees 41 to represent the request the item could be striken from the agenda and placed 42 on at a later date. 43 44 Mr. Brown moved the strike the request of the Richmond Jaycees regarding the 1987 45 Go Kart Race, seconded by Mr. Willis and on unanimous voice vote the motion was 46 carried. 47 48 STREET LIGHT APPROVAL FOR KEYSER LANE 49 50 Mr. Robert Hankosky, Distribution Engineer with Richmond Power & Light, informed 51 the Board that the Street Light Committee had approved a request for 1-150 watt 52 sodium pendant and 5-100 watt sodium ornamentals to be placed on Keyser Lane. 53 The additional cost to the City per month would be 33.54 . III 54 55 Ms. Silberstein asked about existing lights in the area and Mr. Hankosky indicated 56 there were none. 57 58 Mr. Brown moved to approve the request for 1-150 watt sodium pendant and 5-100 59 watt sodium ornamentals on Keyser Lane at a monthly cost of 33.54, seconded by 60 Mr. Willis and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. 61 62 BOARD OF WORKS MISCELLANEOUS 63 64 Conflict of Interest - Police Lt. Bobby Davidson 65 Board of Works Minutes Cont 'd December 18, 1986 Page 2 1 The Conflict of Interest Disclosure State of Police Lt. Bobby J. Davidson was 2 presented the Board for acceptance. Lt. Davidson is employed by Davidson Motors 3 which would propose to do minor body repairs to police vehicles. 4 5 Mr. Brown moved to approve and execute the Conflict of Interest Disclosure111 6 Statement of Police Lt. Bobby J. Davidson, seconded by Mr. Willis and on 7 unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. 8 9 Declaration of Surplus Property - Fire Department Garage Doors 10 11 Ms. Silberstein stated that the Fire Department was replacing overhead door and 12 would need to declare the old doors as surplus property, useless to the City, 13 in order that they may be sold. 14 15 Ms. Silberstein stated there were nine (9) overhead door involved. 16 17 Mr. Willis moved to declare whatever overhead door being replaced in the Fire 18 Department as surplus property and available for sale pursuant to law, seconded 19 by Mr. Brown and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. 20 21 ADJOURNMENT 22 23 There being no further business, on a motion duly made, seconded and passed the 24 meeting was adjourned. 25 26 27 Susan Silberstein, President 28 29 30 ATTEST: 31 Mary Merchanthouse, City Clerk 32 33 34 35 36 37 38 39 40 41 42 43 44 45 46 47 48 49 50 51 52 53 54 55 56 57 58 59 60 61 62 63 64 65
