HomeMy Public PortalAboutr 16-069�Reovhltivin of 144 P =UB4 of garteret, �q. �4- No 16 -69 Date of Adoptionl� 1, 2016 OPPOSING ASSEINIBLY BILL A -434 IWHEREAS, Assembly Bill A -434, released by the Assembly State and Local Government Committee and WHEREAS, A -434, allows intergovernmental transfer of law enforcement officer without consent of sending jurisdiction if officer completed two or more consecutive years of employment and consent was refused previously; and A -434 in its current form is inequitable and burdensome for local government; and IEREAS, the New Jersey League of Municipalities strongly opposes A -434 as released and requested that all of its members to go on record similarly opposing the same. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the Borough Carteret, County of Middlesex, State of New Jersey, as follows: 1. That the Borough of Carteret hereby opposes Assembly Bill A -434 and recommends the committee reconsider passing A -434 as this would cause strain and/or constrictions on local staffing. 2. That a copy of this Resolution be forwarded to the New Jersey League of Municipalities, Assemblyman Tim Eustace, Senator Joseph Vitale, Assemblyman Craig Coughlin and Assemblyman John Wisniewski.
