HomeMy Public PortalAboutAddendum 3 July 23-2013RESPONSE TO QUESTIONS Town of Gulf Stream Overhead Utility Undergrounding Initiative Phase 1 - Project 2012/13-50 Questions submitted July18 & 19, 2013. Project 2012/13-50 Addendum Number 3 The Town will issue addendums weekly if necessary to document responses to questions raised by the potential proposers. Clarification questions will not be accepted after July 19, 2013, at 5:00 PM. Requests for Clarifications have been submitted as follows: 1. For existing FPL underground services, do you want all of the presently used service wire to be replaced if in conduit, direct buried, or both?? Answer: Where existing underground facilities are reusable, we will not replace them. Underground services extending out to the street or to a connection adjacent to the street can remain. Underground services extending to connection points not along the street will be replaced with home runs out to the street. 2. Are any FPL services on Phase one customer owned where the contractor must supply the service wire? If so, which addresses? Answer: Yes, The Tennis Club Services, The Golf Club Course Pump Services, and any other non-residential overhead service, or underground service that cannot be reused. 3. Some existing underground services show the wire size on the plans and some do not. Is this for any particular reason or just informational? Answer: FPL drawings show services with wire labels which may or may not be FPL wire. The FPL supplemental drawings show more clearly which services are existing (solid lines) and proposed (dashed lines). ____TPX___ vs _ _TPX_ _ 4. Are the primary and feeder pull boxes traffic rated concrete boxes? Answer: Feeder pull boxes are 5’x10’ concrete feeder splice boxes URD Primary pull Boxes are traffic rated if located within 10 feet of the travel lane on SR A1A. 5. Is the contractor required to remove the old FPL cobra head street lights? Answer: No, FPL will remove all the overhead facilities. 6. Are all the AT&T/Comcast services that need to be installed drawn on the plans or do services need to be brought to each meter can? Answer: Overhead services will need to be replaced with runs to the meter can if the meter location is outdoors. Where the meters are inside the bldg. and no ground connection is available outside, we will run the Comcast and AT&T to the a point on the bldg. close to the existing termination.. 7. Also, there are very few ATT Boxes installed along A1A. Do we just bring the 1” to the closest box regardless of the number of services going to a particular box? Answer: The majority of AT&T and Comcast Services are underground. Please visit the site to verify the work required.. 8. It appears that page C1 in the Comcast plans is wrong. The same addresses appear on page C1 and C2 Answer: The drawings overlap at the lower left side of the sheet C1. I have regenerated sheet C1 to a larger scale to eliminate the overlap. It is included in this Addendum. 9. Golf Stream Golf Club – Is fed UG. Shows existing but only to one set of primary. Are we installing a loop back? Answer: AS previously indicated, we will retain existing FPL underground circuits where usable and only run new circuits to loop these radial installations. See the FPL Supplemental Drawings provided in addendum 1. 10. Is irrigation meter on drawing existing? If not who is providing/feeding? Answer: Yes, all meters are existing. 11. Is there presently a conduit from the manhole @ North & Ocean to the new TX location? Answer: The existing secondary conduit runs from the manhole to the pole. 12. Drawing F15 in the Addendum Drawing shows the Ducts in the Pavement. Is this expected to be trenched in? What restoration will be expected? 13. With the exception of the 2 phases running north in the easement along the west side of 11 Driftwood Lane, all conduits crossing the road are existing and run from the existing poles which are not in the asphalt. 14. Comcast Drawings do not stipulate conduit number or size per line. Should we assume each line is a single 2” in the ROW? (Not Services) Answer: Line Type Labels on the Comcast runs indicate each run is 2-2C (two 2” conduits). Some are coax (CATV) and some are Fiber Optic (FIBER). All are 2- 2” PVC. 15. In areas where Comcast is shown in conduit junction areas without hand holes are we installing sub ups or just markers? Answer: Stub Up in a cluster for future pedestal by Comcast. 16. Who is responsible for Service Change Permits / Cost if required? Answer: The Contractor. 17. The RFP states that clearing for equipment will be performed by the City. Being that this entire job is in the ROW and Easement, the area required for drilling equipment will be much larger than that required for only the equipment. Is the City clearing / restoring this expanded area as well? No. Typically contractors offset their drill rigs to avoid the vegetation.
