AWARDING CONTRACT FOR THE COLLECTION, REMOVAL AND
DISPOSAL OF GARBAGE AND TRASH REFUSE
TO SUBURBAN DISPOSAL INC.
WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council have previously authorized the solicitation of bid
proposals for a contract for the collection, removal and disposal of garbage and trash
refuse for the Borough of Carteret; mid
WHEREAS, on March 31, 2016, the Borough received bid proposals for said contract;
and
WHEREAS, the Director of Engineering and Borough Law Director have reviewed the
various bid proposal service options for the above described contract and the respective
bid prices for the same; and
WHEREAS, the Director of Engineering and Borough Law Director have recommended
an award of a five year (5) year contract to Suburban Disposal Inc., 54 Montesano Road,
Fairfield NJ 07004, as low bidder for said contract based upon the service options
approved herein by the Mayor and Council; and
WHEREAS, finds are or will be available for the award of said contract based upon and
accordance with the annual budgetary appropriation for the same.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council the Borough of
Carteret, County of Middlesex, State of New Jersey as follows:
The bid proposal of Suburban Disposal Inc., 54 Montesano Road,
Fairfield NJ 07004 initially for a five (5) year contract for the
collection, disposal and removal of garbage and trash refuse, to include
the service options designated in the contract documents, in the total
amount not to exceed $3,135,000.00 and in confonuance with the bid
specifications for Options 3 -1B and 3 -3, in all respects is hereby
accepted.
The Borough Law Director is hereby authorized to prepare the
necessary contract documents and the Mayor and Borough Clerk are
hereby authorized to execute the same.
3. A copy of this Resolution shall be forwarded to the Borough Law
Director, the Borough Director of Engineering and Suburban Disposal,
54 Montesano Road, Fairfield, NJ 07004.

and certified as a true copy of the
original on April 8, 2016.
