Public Hearing
September 06, 2018
5:30 p.m.
The Public Hearing of the Crestview City Council was called to order at 5:30 P.M. Members present were: President J.B. Whitten, Vice President Bill Cox, Shannon Hayes, Joe Blocker and
Doug Faircloth. Also present were Mayor Cadle, the City Clerk Elizabeth Roy, City Attorney Ben Holley, department heads, and members of the press.
President Whitten called the Public Hearing to order.
Pledge: Mr. Cox
Open Meeting
Approve Agenda
Mr. Whitten asked if they were any changes to be made to the Agenda.
There were no objections the Agenda was approved with unanimous consent by Mr. Whitten, Mr. Cox, Mr. Faircloth, Mr. Hayes, Mr. Blocker.
Public Hearing
President Whitten opened the Public Hearing.
Adoption of Tentative Millage for Fiscal 2019- Resolution 18-26
President Whitten asked the City Clerk to read Resolution 18-26 by title.
The City Clerk read, “Resolution 18-26 by title:
RESOLUTION 18-26
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF CRESTVIEW OF OKALOOSA COUNTY, FLORIDA, ADOPTING THE TENTATIVE LEVYING OF A MILLAGE OF 6.9466 FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING OCTOBER 1, 2018 AND ENDING SEPTEMBER
30, 2019; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
This is Resolution 18-26.”
Ms. Roy, City Clerk stated that the purpose of the Public Hearing is for the adoption of the Tentative Millage rate for the Fiscal year 2019. Last fiscal year the millage rate was adopted
at 6.9466 and that is the current rate that it’s being proposed for 2019.
President Whitten asked for any Public Input.
There was no Public Input.
President Whitten asked for action by Council.
A motion made by Mr. Hayes to adopt Resolution 18-26. Seconded by Mr. Blocker, vote 4 yeas from Mr. Faircloth, Mr. Hayes, Mr. Cox, Mr. Blocker and Mr. Whitten, 0 nays, motion carried.
Adoption of Tentative Budget for Fiscal 2018- Resolution 18-27
President Whitten asked the City Clerk to read Resolution 18-27 by title.
The City Clerk read, “Resolution 18-27 by title:
RESOLUTION 18-27
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF CRESTVIEW OF OKALOOSA COUNTY, FLORIDA, ADOPTING THE TENTATIVE BUDGET FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING OCTOBER 1, 2018 AND ENDING SEPTEMBER 30, 2019; PROVIDING
FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
This is Resolution 18-27.”
Ms. Roy, City Clerk this budget for 2019 is $37,511,472.00.
President Whitten asked for Public Input.
Discussion ensued.
President Whitten asked Council for action.
A motion made by Mr. Cox to adopt Resolution 18-27. Seconded by Mr. Hayes, with a vote of 5 yeas from Mr. Hayes, Mr. Blocker, Mr. Cox, Mr. Whitten and Mr. Faircloth with 0 nays, motion
carried.
Vice President Cox closed the Public Hearing.
