THE CITY OF BEL AIRE, KANSAS
ORDINANCE NO. 206
AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO THE TAKING OF
FISH FROM WATERS WITHIN BEL AIRE, KANSAS,
PROVIDING PENALTIES THEREFORE, AND REPEALING
ORDINANCE NUMBER 186.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF BEL AIRE,
KANSAS:
Section 1.
Illegal Fishing
It is illegal for any person sixteen (16) to sixty-five (65)
years of age to take or attempt to take fish from any city, state,
or federal waters within the corporate limits of the City of Bel
Aire, Kansas wi thout a valid fishing license from the Kansas
Department of wildlife and Parks.
It is further illegal for any person over fifteen (15) years
of age to take or attempt to take fish from any city, state, or
federal waters within the corporate limits of the City of Bel Aire,
Kansas without a valid fishing permit from the City of Bel Aire,
Kansas in his/her possession. The permit shall be displayed in a
visible place on his/her person while fishing.
Section 2.
Daily Creel And Minimum Size Limits
It is unlawful for any person to take fish from any city,
state, or federal waters within the corporate limits of the City of
Bel Aire, Kansas in violation of the following daily creel and
minimum size limits. Further, no person may exceed a combined
total of five (5) black bass, channel catfish, walleye, and wipers.

Section 3.
Permit Issuance
Residents of Bel Aire, Kansas may obtain an annual City of Bel
Aire fishing permit, valid for one (1) year from the date of issue.
Non-residents of Bel Aire, Kansas may obtain single day City of Bel
Aire fishing permits, valid for the authorized date of use. Non-
residents of Bel Aire, Kansas may only obtain one (1) single day
fishing permit every five (5) days. Single day City of Bel Aire
fishing permits may be obtained no earlier than five (5) days prior
to the authorized date of use. City of Bel Aire fishing permits
may be obtained at the Bel Aire City Hall, 4551 N. Auburn, Bel
Aire, Kansas, during the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on
weekdays.
Section 4.
Permit Fee
A fee of $10.00 shall be charged for each annual fishing
permit issued by the City of Bel Aire, Kansas. A fee of $2.00
shall be charged for each single day fishing permit issued by the
City of Bel Aire, Kansas. However, these fees shall be waived for
those persons under the age of 16 years old and over the age of 65
years old.
Section 5.
Penalty
Any person convicted of a violation of any provision of this
Ordinance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and subject to a fine
not to exceed five hundred dollars ($500.00).
Section 6.
Repeal
Ordinance Number 186 is hereby repealed.
Section 7.
Effective Date
This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and
after its publication in the official city newspaper.
