AUTHORIZING THE REJECTION OF BIDS AND AUTHORIZING
RE- BIDDING THE WESLEY PLACE GRAVITY SEWER LINING
& MANHOLE REPLACEMENT PROJECT
WHEREAS, the Borough of Carteret, (the "Borough ") has previously solicited and
received bids for the Wesley Place Gravity Sewer Lining & Manhole Replacement
Project on April 14, 2016; and
WHEREAS, upon a review of said bid submittals for the said project, the Director of
Engineering has determined that all of the submittals substantially exceed his estimate for
said work; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the Borough
of Carteret, County of Middlesex, State of New Jersey, that all of the bid submittals
received for the Wesley Place Gravity Sewer Lining & Manhole Replacement Project are
hereby rejected, and the return of all of the bidders' bid bonds are hereby d along
with a notification of the rejection of all bids.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the D of Engineering and/or appropriate
Borough Officials is hereby authorized to solicit new bid submittals for the project in
accordance with the Engineer's direction of the bid specifications for the same.
Adopted this 21't day of April, 2016
and certified as a true copy of the
original on April 22, 2016.
