Curb Cut Request-1316 N.W. 5th Street

Mr. Bronston stated this request was for a new office building at the intersection
of N.W. 5th and M Streets. He said that the City Engineer has approved the
request and the Traffic Division has looked at the request and has same reservations
with the additional traffic pulling onto N.W. 5th Street by way of additional curb
cut. Officer Jenkins stated it would be ideal to make the access off M Street and
not make an additional curb cut onto N.W. 5th Street.

Mr. Bronston stated that currently there are plans for three (3) spaces in the
building with parking in the rear and a curb cut onto N.W. M Street also.
He said the owner feels it. is necessary for the N.W. 5th Street curb cut to draw
from the amount of traffic on N.W. 5th Street. Mr. Bronston also stated that
parking lots and drives will be asphalted within twelve (12) months.

Mr. Bronston will provide the owners name to the Clerk since it did not copy well
on the request. He said they have been issued building permits, state approval has
been received and a local contractor has been hired for the job.

Ms. Silberstein stated since there was no master plan regarding N.W. 5th Street to
limit curb cuts, even though it may not be as desirable as having all access off M
Street, she could not justify denying the request.

Ms. Silberstein moved to approve the curb cut request at 1316 N.W. 5th Street for
both the cut on N.W. 5th and N.W. M Street, seconded by Mr. Brown and on unanimous
