BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE
CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, JUNE 28, 1984
1 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in
2 regular session June 28, 1984 at the hour of 9:00 a.m. in the Municipal Building
3 in said City. Mr. Brown presided with Ms. Silberstein in attendance.
4 Ms. Maness was absent. The following business was had to-wit:

6 APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF JUNE 21, 1984

8 Ms. Silberstein moved to approve the minutes of the previous meeting as
9 prepared, seconded by Mr. Brown and on unanimous voice vote the motion was
10 carried.

12 APPROVAL OF CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT

14 Ms. Silberstein moved to approve claims in the amount of 489,272.75 for
15 payment, seconded by Mr. Brown and on unanimous voice vote the motion was
16 carried.

20 Demolition Bids for Unsafe Buildings

22 Mr. Barden _reque8ted that this item remain tabled until the next meeting
23 of the Board in order that the City Contoller can have time to locate
24 the funding.

26 DEPARTMENT REQUESTS AND COMMENTS

28 Approval to execute Quit Claim Deed for Greater Second Baptist Church

30 Mr. Barden told the Board that this property was originally a part of a
31 Street vacation and when the Church purchased the property adjoining the
32 vacated area it was not properly transferred to the Church. This deed
11/ 33 will clear up the transfer of ownership and title.

35 Ms. Silberstein moved to approve execution of the Quit Claim Deed to
36 the Greater Second Baptist Church for vacated right of way, seconded by
37 Mr. Brown and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried.

39 Eatablishment of date to receive bids for Bus Advertising

L1 Mr. Willis told the Board that specifications have been prepared in order
L2 to receive bids for advertising on the exterior of the City buses. This
43 will generate more revenue for the operation of the buses and the
44 advertising will be controlled to exclude alcohol, cigarettes and sexually
45 related materials.

47 Ms. Silberstein moved to set August 2, 1984 at 9:00 a.m. as the date and
L8 time to receive bids for advertising on the exterior of City owned buses,
49 seconded by Mr. Brown and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried.

51 Weed Ordinance Enforcement

53 Mr. Barden told the Board that 15 to 20 orders have gone out for mowing
54 of weeds for the City Weed Control Ordinance.

56. Closing of North 15th Street Conrail Crossing
57
58 Captain Wogoman announced that the North 15th Street Conrail crossing will
59 be closed starting July 9, 1984 for repairs.

61 Enforcement of laws regarding Fireworks by Police and Fire Departments

63 Fire Chief Bosell and Police Chief Nimitz told the Board that they will
64 be enforcing the laws regarding Fireworks through their respective Departments
65 and encouraged the public to cooperate in the proper use of fireworks and

1 disposal of any, dangerous fireworks.

5 There being no further business on a motion duly made, seconded and passed
6 the meeting was adjourned.
