1 The Board of Public. Works- and .Safety.of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met
2 in regular session August.18,. 1983 at the hour of 9:00 a.m. in the Munic; :pal
3 Building in-said- City.. Mr. Meredith presided with Mr. Cordell and Mr. Webb
4 present. The following:...business was had, to-wit:

6 . APPROVAL OF MINUTES 'OF'AUGUST 11; 1983

8 Mr. Cordell. moved to .approve the minutes of August .11, 1983 as prepared and
9 place on file,. seconded by Mr. Webb and on unanimous voice vote the motion
10 was carried.

12 WAYNE COUNTY HEALTH• FAIR NATIONAL ROAD RUN - Al Cook

14 Mr. -Al Cook,-.940 South 21st Street, requested permission for the 6th annual
15 . National Road Run. using the same route as in the previous years. He pre-
16 sented a map of the route to:`.be run Saturday, September 10 starting at 9:00
17 a.m. They have secured insurance for the run and expect 120 runners. Capt.
18 Dan Wogoman' noted no problems in the past.

20 Mr. _Webb .moved that the 6th- annual National Road Run, sponsored by the Wayne
21 County Health Fair and the Palladium Item on Saturday, September 10th
22 starting at 9:00 a.m. at 10th & Promenade' be approved as. presented, seconded
23 by Mr. Cordell and onrunanimous voice vote the motion was carried.

25 MUSCULAR DYSTROPHY BUCKET BRIGADE - Jim Murray •

27 - Mr. Jim Murray, 204 N. W. 5th, Chairman of the local drive for 1983, requested
28 permission .for the Muscular Dystrophy bucket brigade at 8th & Promenade from
29 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Monday, September 5. Capt. Dan Wogoman foresees
30 no problems. . •

32 Mr. . Webb moved the subject request be approved, seconded by Mr. Cordell and
33 on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried.

- 35 CLOSE NORTH 15TH STREET RAILROAD CROSSING FOR REPAIRS

37 Capt. .Wogoman reported he received word Monday from the Norfolk: & Western
38 railroad that they would like permission to .close the North 15th Street
39 crossing for repairs, starting today for approximately two (2) weeks.

41 Mr. .Webb moved that Norfolk & Western railroad be permitted to close North
42 15th Street for reconstruction of. the railroad crossing starting August 18
43 and lasting approximately two .(2) weeks, seconded by Mr. Cordell and on
44 ,unanimous voice vote the',motion was carried. .

46 AGREEMENTS FOR FIRE DEPARTMENT' SERVICES WITH' WAYNE TOWNSHIP AND SPRING GROVE
47 .
48 The. Board. received agreements for fire services with Wayne Township and Spring
49 Grove'. City Attorney Ed Anderson has .reviewed the agreements and finds them
50 in order. The agreement with Wayne .Township is for $190,062. and Spring
51 Grove is $14;317. , representing a three percent (3%) increase over previous
52 .years.

54 Mr. Webb moved that the.fire protection agreements with Wayne •Township and
55 Spring Grove be approved, seconded by Mr. Cordell and on unanimous voice vote
56 the motion was carried.

60 There being no further business on motion duly made, seconded and passed the
61 meeting was adjourned, seconded' by Mr. Cordell and on unanimous voice vote
