BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE
CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, MARCH 17, 1983
1 The Board of Public Works and Safety. of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met
2 in regular session March 17, 1983 at the hour of 9:00 a.m. in the Municipal
3 Building in said City. Mr. Meredith presided with Mr. Cordell and Mr. Webb
4 present.. -The ,following business was had,. to-wit:

ill8 Mr. Webb moved the minutes of the previous meeting be approved.and placed on
9 file as prepared,. seconded by Mr. Cordell and on unanimous voice vote the
10 motion was carried. •

12 REQUEST FOR CITY, THROUGH. COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT, TO GRANT $3,000 FOR ROOF
13 FOR TOWNSEND CENTER - Mayor Dickman

• 15 Mayor Dickman requested the Board approve the 'authorization of a $3,000 con-
16 tribut.ion.'to.Townsend Community Center..-for. a share.of a roof they 'need on the
17 center. Other funds-.have been donated to: help match the .$16,000. needed. .
18 The money is in a contingency fund left over from Community Development. 'pro-
19 jects in North Richmond. This .does not`-.require Council--or HUD. -approval.-_ The
20 center is much needed in our _community and, to help preserve that, he requested
21 this recommendation be approved.

23 Mr.. Cordell moved.:to approve the request for .the City through Community
24 Development to grant -$3,000 for a roof for Townsend Community Center, Richmond,
25 Indiana, seconded by .Mr. Webb and on unanimous. voice vote the motion was
26 carried. Mr. Meredith directed- the City Attorney to draw an appropriate
27 contract making the donation'apply only 'to the roof as the motion stated.

29 REQUEST FOR REMOVAL OF PARKING ON PARK AVENUE - Capt. Dan- Wogoman

31 Traffic Cap.t, Dan Wogoman stated he has had a request from Mr. 'Ed Dinnamon, .
32 owner' 'of Dinnies Restaurant., and other residents of the 3000 block of Park
III33 Avenue 'to remove parking on Park Avenue-. There are no curbs in.the area and
34 the'.overflow from Dinnie's parking lot is tearing up the resident's yards.
35 Capt. .Wogoman recommended "no parking this side" be placed on both _the north
36 and south sides of this street. The area has been .canvassed and. residents
37 are in agreement. Dinnie's parking lot is going to be increased.

39 Mr. Webb moved that the Board ,of Public Works and Safety authorize the Traffic
40 Division to place "no parking" signs in the 3000 block of Park Avenue, second-
41 ed by Mr. Cordell and on unanimous voice vote' the motion was carried.

43 REPORT ON -DEMOLITION OF 200 NORTH .8TH - Charles Roberts - .
44 ..
45 Building Commissioner Charles Roberts presented copies of .letters sent to .
' 46 Edward- Gardiner and Charles Gellinget. - The one to Mr. Gardiner-was certified
47 and he presented a return receipt showing he received the letter. Mr. Roberts
48 has ordered.. a contractor to start Monday to clean up the site.
