CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, OCTOBER 21, 1982
1 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met
2 in regular session October 21, 1982 at the hour of 9:00 a.m. in the Municipal
3 Building in said City. Mr. Meredith presided with Mr. Cordell and Mr. Webb
4 present. The following business was had, to-wit:

6 APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF OCTOBER 14, 1982

II/ 8 Mr. Cordell moved to approve the minutes of October 14, 1982 as prepared,
9 seconded by Mr. Webb and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried.

11 MORTGAGE RELEASE FOR 805 North 17th Street - Ron Cheek

13 Mr. Ron Cheek, representing the Department of Community Development, requested
14 execution of satisfaction of mortgage on property located at 805 North 17th
15 Street. The property was in the replacement housing program under a five (5)
16 year mortgage and that time period has expired. This has been examined by City
17 Attorney Ed Anderson and found to be in order.

19 Mr. Webb moved the subject mortgage release be executed, seconded by Mr. Cordell
20 and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried.

22 STREET LIGHTS ON SOUTH "C" AND GARWOOD - U/A FROM LAST WEEK

24 Mr. Meredith stated he went to the area last night and suggested the light on
25 Garwood Road be approved and only four (4) lights be approved on South "C" Street.

27 Mr. Webb moved that the street light request from the Street Light Committee on
28 October 13, 1982 be approved with the following modifications: (1) 1-250 watt
29 sodium on existing pole at South "C" and Garwood (2) 4-100 watt sodium ornamentals
30 on South "C" between Garwood and 46th Street as shown on the attached sketch,
31 seconded by Mr. Cordell and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried.

III 33 SET HEARING DATES FOR UNSAFE BUILDINGS

35 Building Commissioner Charles Roberts requested dates be set for unsafe building
36 hearings at 1530 E. Main and 216 North 16th Street.

38 Mr. Meredith set Wednesday, November 24, 1982 at 10:00 a.m.

40 CHANGE DATE OF BOARD OF WORKS MEETINGS

42 Mr. Meredith changed the meeting of the Board of Works from Thursday, November
43 11, 1982 to Wednesday, November 10, 1982 due to Veterans' Day. He also changed
44 the Thursday, November 25, 1982 to Wednesday, November 24, 1982 due to Thanks-
45 giving Day.

47 TWO HOUR PARKING ON S. W. 1ST STREET

49 Ms. Dorothy Rado, 321 S. W. 1st, told the Board she has requested Capt. Wogoman
50 conduct a survey of residents in her neighborhood concerning the two (2) hour
51 parking limit on S. W. 1st Street which restricts resident parking. She noted
52 she has checked with the high school and they have adequate off-street parking
53 for their students. Capt. Wogoman noted he will conduct a door to door survey
54 in the area to establish whether the residents continue to want two (2) hour
55 parking limits as previously requested. He noted the area has changed as there
56 is now adequate parking. Ms. Rado was told the limited parking would apply to
57 residents as well as the students. Capt. Wogoman will report back to the Board
58 when the survey is completed.

62 Three Centerville High School students were welcomed to the Board meeting.
