BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE
CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, AUGUST 12, 1982
1 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met
2 in regular session August 12, 1982 at the hour of 9 :00 a.m. in the Municipal
3 Building in said City. Mr. Meredith presided with Mr. Cordell and Mr. Webb
4 present. The following business was had, to-wit:

6 APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF AUGUST 5, 1982

8 Mr. Cordell moved to approve the minutes of August 5, 1982 as prepared. The
9 motion died for lack of a second.

11 Mr. Webb moved the minutes of August 5, 1982 be approved and placed on file
12 as corrected, seconded by Mr. Cordell and on unanimous voice vote the motion
13 was carried.

15 DRIVEWAY PETITION FOR 117 N. W. "E" STREET - George Webb

17 Mr. Webb presented a petition for small residential driveway at 117 N. W. "E"
18 Street from Ms. Mary Richardson. This has been checked by Traffic, Zoning and
19 Engineering Departments and all recommend approval. Mr. Meredith requested
20 Building Commissioner Charles Roberts check to see if any building permits are
21 needed.

23 Mr. Webb moved for approval of the subject driveway petition, seconded by Mr.
24 Cordell and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried.

26 SET DATE FOR UNSAFE BUILDING HEARING FOR 200 NORTH 8TH - Charles Roberts

28 Building Commissioner Charles Roberts requested a hearing date be set for an
29 unsafe building at 200 North 8th Street owned by Mr. Ed Gardiner. He presented
30 three (3) pictures taken this morning to the Board. Mr. Roberts discussed this
31 property with the owner last January making improvement suggestions, but the
32 owner did not comply. The structure was burned last March and there is water
33 damage all the way to the ground floor. Mr. Roberts has received several com-
34 plaints. The building is fairly well secured on the ground level. Arson was
35 suspected and in response to a question concerning the structure being released
36 by the Fire Marshall, Mr. Roberts stated they apparently are not interested
37 any more.

39 Mr. Meredith set September 9, 1982 at 10:00 a.m. for the hearing.
