Brewster Bikeways Committee
Meeting Minutes

Time : 12 : 00 PM
Location : Remote meeting
Members present : Susan Riseman, Joe Sullivan, George Bausch, Eric Levy, Rick Scannevin
Members absent: Greg Wright
1 . Call to order: Meeting called to order at 12 : 10 PM .
2 . Declaration of Quorum : Quorum present with 5 out of 7 members, one vacant position .
3 . Meeting Participation Statement : Read by Chair Sullivan .
4. Webinar Overview : Suzanne Bryan, Technical assistant for Brewster Government Television/
Town of Brewster Media Services, gave the Committee a brief overview of how the new Zoom
Webinar works which now allows the public to participate in the meetings .
5 . Public Forum : There weren' t any comments received from the public . There was one member
of the public online observing the meeting .
6 . Review and approval of previous meeting minutes : Eric Levy made a motion to approve the
minutes of the January meeting, it was seconded by George Bausch and unanimously approved .
Joe Sullivan asked if the Town was posting the minutes on the Town website . Rick Scannevin
said he would check into it but he thought some were missing .
7 . Proposed improved path between the elementary schools: Joe emailed the school committee
concerning the ownership of the land between the schools but had not received a reply. He
shared a map of the properties with the Committee to make it clearer as to what Bikeways
would like to see . ( Brewster Tax Map77 ) George recommended a 10' wide surface so motor j
vehicles could use it . He mentioned the Brewster Whitecaps use the existing trail/ path . Joe is

going to craft a letter from the Committee to send to the Selectboard encouraging the
development and improvement of the access road .
B . Complete Streets update : Nothing new to report .
9 . Linnell Landing Trail extension : Nothing new to report .
10. Bike racks and repair station update : Joe sent an email to Ryan Burch, Natural Resources Dept . ,
to inquire where we are in applying for grant money to purchase bike racks and a repair station .
He has not heard back yet .
11 . FYI : Joe says he will work on the annual report from the Bikeways Committee that will be
included in the Annual Town Reports .
12 . Matters not anticipated : Sue Riseman spoke about the increase in signs around Town opposing
the road improvements on Millstone Road . After a brief discussion it was decided the
Committee would invite Pat Ellis, Superintendent of the DPW, to the next meeting to get a
better idea of how this may end up .
13 . Next meeting : The next meeting will be March 12 , 2021 from 12 : 004 : 00 PM . It will be another

remote meeting . Webinar information for the meeting will be emailed .

14 . Adjournment : Meeting was adjourned at 1 : 18 PM .
