BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE
CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, JULY 1, 1982
1 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met
2 in regular session July 1 , 1982 at the hour of 9:00 a.m. in the Municipal
3 Building in said City. Mr. Webb presided with Mr. Cordell present. Mr.
4 Meredith was on vacation. The following business was had, to-wit:

6 APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF JUNE 24, 1982

8 Mr. Cordell moved to approve the minutes of June 24, 1982 as prepared, seconded
9 by Mr. Webb and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried.

11 APPOINTMENT OF RESERVE OFFICER KEVIN DICKERSON - -Police Chief Chris
12
13 Police Chief Charles Chris recommended that Mr. Kevin Dickerson be accepted as
14 a duly qualified Richmond Police Department Reserve Officer effective July 1,
15 1982 and sworn as such. He has successfully completed the Reserve Training
16 Program and will have full police powers within the boundaries of the City
17 during the hours of assignment as approved by the Chief.

19 Mr. Cordell moved that Kevin Dickerson be accepted as a duly qualified Reserve
20 Officer of the Richmond Police Department, seconded by Mr. Webb and on
21 unanimous voice vote the motion was carried.

23 Chief Chris noted that Ms. Pat Sheets was accepted. in April as a duly qualified
24 Reserve Officer but was unable to take the oath at that time due to hospitali-
25 zation. She was present at this time. The Clerk administered the oath to Mr.
• 26 Dickerson and Ms. Sheets.

28 GRANT OF REVOCABLE EASEMENT IN GROSS - Department of Community Development
29 -
30 Mr. Ron Cheek, representing the Department of Community Development, presented
31 a grant of revocable easement in gross by Richmond Community Schools to the
32 City of Richmond by and through the Department of Parks and Recreation. This
III 33 allows the City to complete the trail of the Whitewater Gorge. This is a re-
34 vocable grant which can be revoked by the schools by sixty (60) days notice
35 should they need it. The area is below the "G" Street bridge.

37 City Attorney Ed Anderson stated he has not had an opportunity to review the.
38 grant.

40 Mr. Webb moved that the Board of Works accept the subject easement subject to
41 the concurrence of the legal department, seconded by Mr. Cordell and on unani-
42 mous voice vote the motion was carried.

44 BUREAU OF BUILDINGS MONTHLY REPORT FOR JUNE, 1982 - Charles Roberts
45
46 Building Commissioner Charles Roberts presented his report for June, 1982. He
47 noted the weed inspector did 170 inspections.

49 Mr. Cordell moved to approve the report of the Bureau of Buildings, seconded by
50 Mr. Webb and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried.
