• BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE
CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, MAY 13, 1982
1 The Board of Public Work's• and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met
2 in regular session May 13, 1982 at the hour of 9:00'..a.m. in the Municipal
3 Building in said City. Mr. Meredith presided with Mr. Cordell and Mr. Webb
. 4 present. . The following business was had, to-wit:.

6 APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF MAY 6, 1982

8 Mr. Webb moved the minutes of the previous• meeting be approved and placed on
9 file as prepared, seconded .by' Mr. 'Cordell and on unanimous voice vote the
III 10 motion was carried.

12 REQUEST FOR WALK-A-THON BY CHURCH. OF GOD (1920 Chester Blvd.)

14 Pastor Russell Black, 1910 Chester Blvd. , stated approximately thirty (30)
15 church members will be walking -from the 1900 block of' Chester .Blvd. north
16 on U.S. 27 to _the outskirts of Fountain. City on Saturday, May 15 at 9:00 a.m.
17 The walkers will have sponsors and the money raised will be for the youth of
18 the church.' There will be teens to adults in the group. He noted. they
19 .called the State Police Post in Connersville and they said it would be al- .
20 right outside the City limits. He requested permission from the City from
21 the 1900 block of Chester Blvd. to I-70. They will not be walking on the
22 pavement. . Capt.- Dan- Wogoman stated he feels this does not involve us;..
23 however, Mr... .Meredith noted they will be using ,easements of the City. City
24 Attorney Ed Anderson stated they are going •to be on City right-of-way and ,
25 the number almost constitutes'a parade.

• 27 . Mr.- Webb'moved. that the .subject request be approved,_ seconded by Mr. Cordell
28 and on.unanimous voice vote the motion was carried.

30 . REQUEST FOR BLOCK PARTY -IN- BERRY FIELD - Mrs. Robert Lett

32 Mrs. Judith Lett, 1812 East Drive, requested the corner of Middle and East
III33 •-- Drives in Berry Field be closed on May 22 at 5:00 p.m. to 8:00, p.m. for a
34 block party. The other drives will be left .open to traffic,.

36 . Mr. Webb moved that the subject request be approved, seconded by Mr. Cordell
37 and on unanimous voice vote-the motion was carried.

39 GROUND LEASE WITH JOSEPH FRANK (Richmond Organic Conversion System)

41 Mr—Frank stated the lease is for ground on Sim Hodgin Parkway, which he is
42 using for converting of organic material for the use of citizens. The com-
43 post will be sold for 5c per. pound. . •

45 City Attorney Ed Anderson has drawn the lease for one (1) year with an option
46 to renew for one (1) year at the cost of $1.00 per year•. The lease contains
47 a hold harmless clause for the City.

49 Mr. Webb moved that the .subject ground lease be entered into and said ground- .
50 , lease be subject to delineation of area involved to the satisfaction of both
51 parties, seconded by Mr. Cordell and on unanimous voice vote the motion was
52 carried.

54 GRANTING OF.EASEMENT BY UAW TO 'CITY (N. W. 5th & "L") - .George Webb

' 56 'Mr. Webb stated due to limited right-of-way UAW recently granted for the
57 :.construction of the signal project, it was discovered that an easement is.
III58 needed for a sign. The UAW has been gracious enough to grant the easement
59 • and Mr. Webb moved that the grant of easement be accepted by the Board of
60 Public Works and Safety, seconded by Mr. Cordell. The instrument was
61 prepared by City Attorney Ed Anderson. On unanimous voice vote the motion
62 • was. carried. .

1 UTILITY AGREEMENT FROM GAS COMPANY. FOR SOUTH "L" 'STREET PROJECT - George Webb

3 Mr. Webb stated in conjunction with the South "L" Street project, Richmond
4 Gas Corporation signed an agreement with the City that they will relocate
5 their. facilities as required by the construction. The agreement has been
6 'reviewed by the City Attorney.

8 Mr. Webb moved that said agreement be accepted by the Richmond Board of
9 Public Works & Safety, seconded by Mr. Cordell and on unanimous voice vote
10 the motion was carried. •

12 SET DATE FOR UNSAFE BUILDING HEARING FOR 413 SOUTH 6TH STREET - Charles Roberts

'14 Building Commissioner Charles Roberts requested the Board set a date,
15 approximately thirty (30) days from now, for an unsafe building hearing
16 ' for 413 -South 6th Street. • . . •

18 Mr. Meredith set June 10 at 10:00 a.m. for the hearing.

20 U/A - RADIO MAINTENANCE MONTHLY .REPORT

22 Mr. Meredith stated he checked with the -Radio ;Maintenanceman and the time
23 he shows on his report- are actual work times on a unit which does not include
24 travel'orarts pick-up.

26 Mr. Webb moved the subject report be accepted and placed on file, seconded
27 by Mr. Cordell and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried.
