SPECIAL MEETING
BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE
CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, APRIL 19, 1982
1 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met
2 in special session April 19, 1982 at the hour of 6:30 p.m. in the Municipal
3 Building in said City. Mr. Meredith presided with Mr.. Cordell and Mr. Webb
4 present. The following business was had, to-wit:

6 This special meeting of the Board of Public Works and Safety was held as the
7 Board was informed by Chief of Police Charles Chris that there is a group of
8 Reserve Officers who are ready to be graduated and sworn for their duties.

10 Chief Chris stated eight (8) Police Reserve Officers have completed their
11 training,. field evaluation, written tests and forms of qualification. Major
12 Gene Goodwin designed the tests and Capt. John Farmer coordinated the
13 reserve unit. Chief Chris recommended to the Board that the officers be
14 accepted as sworn Reserve Officers for the Richmond Police Department.

16 Mr. Webb so moved, seconded by Mr. Cordell and on unanimous voice vote the
17 motion was carried..

19 Mr. Meredith stated it is with a great deal of pleasure we accept these
20 officers, who have volunteered to work with the City of Richmond. The fact
21 this is done on a volunteer basis is pleasing and rewarding.

23 - City Clerk JoEllen Trimble administered the oath to the following seven
24 officers. The other officer will be sworn in at a later date.
