Most renters are returning customers but there are 2 weeks left open every year for new renters , ' 6) FRIENDS REPORT : Brian Locke : There was a meeting held to make decisions to open up the mansion for Open Houses , A recruitment day was scheduled and a training day for new docents , There was only one new docent to train on July 81h . We will be holding Open Houses every Sunday until September 29111 , We ask for a $ 5 donation , We need approx , 8 people to run a safe and successful Open House , The first Open House was held Sunday July 11th , Approx , 84 adults attended and generated $431 , 00 in revenue , The second Open House was held Sunday July 18111, and was attended by 280 people and generated $ 763 :00 in revenue . Also, Al Williamshas once again listed Crosby Mansion and hours of operation on the Cape Cod Museum Trail Brian wants to use the open field for parking but 4 volunteers are needed , Brian will give his phone number out to volunteers so they can contact him if needed , There will be another publicized event to recruit more volunteers in the future , We do recruit at Open Houses , Sue Connor put together a docent hand -held guide to assist all docents , At present time we do not conduct private tours so that we may keep social distancing , 7 ) CPC UPDATE , Joe Rego congratulated Cate O ' Neill and team for a Job well done on the CPC Application . Beth Devine at Town Hall said that the application was perfect , We have all the letters of support from Tim Whelan , Seascape East Association , Cape Rep, and Brewster Historical , The Select Board presented their letter at their meeting and it was approved and signed . 8 ) 3,d COTTAGE : Joe Rego asked where we are on the funding . Joe will contact Peter Lombardi to find out about money available . Contractor, Brian Daley stated that he would have a quote by the end of July. Contractor, Jeff Swanson has been non -committal , If we are going bask for a town loan we need to get it on the town meeting agenda , Brian Locke estimates that the cost of renovation will be $ 240, 000 or higher . We need to establish a timeline for us and our contractors . Brian Locke will ask Brian Daley for cost estimates by our next meeting in August . Joe and Brian will speak to Peter Lombardi regarding how to go about asking for funding , I www . brewster- ma .gov 12/ 18/2020 Page 2of3 c� o, rtorl, 9 Town of Brewster Au* �•+C ' 2198 Main Street � Brewster, MA 02631 - 1898 e _ phone: (508) 896- 3701 - Fax : ( 508) 896-8089 ��gllIHHAI M(IIt1Uut1�1\\� 9 ) NEW BUSINESS : Cate O' Neill reported that Seascape East Association had their annual meeting on Saturday July 171h and it was voted that they would give the Crosby Mansion a $ 300 , 00 donation , Brian informed the Committee that Seascape East donates every year , Volunteer Gayle ,Williams created a brochure about Crosby Mansion which Brian showed the Committee , i Diana Lamb inquired about the latest on the Crosby Mansion Sign , Joni informed the committee that she will proceed with talking to Joe Reese from Cape Craft Signs In Harwich , She will send him the sign mock - up and specifications that we are looking for , Then Joni will send a proof to the committee for approval and submission . After the sign drawing is submitted , the Brewster Historical Commission will have a public meeting regarding approval . The sign will be the sole responsibility of the Crosby Committee , CONTINUED UNDER NEW BUSINESS ; VOLUNTEER COOORDINATOR ; Joni Kosmach brought up the subject of our Volunteer Coordinator position . Discussion continued regarding how to maximize the position for the future success of the mansion and who is best suited for the role , A motion was made, subject to review by the Town Administrator, that the Property Manager become the Coordinator of Volunteers . Motion made by Joe Rego and seconded by Joni Kosmach . Board voted 4 - yes 0 - No , Next Meeting— Discussion regarding next meeting included Joe Rego not being available , If needed , we can get together as sub- committees to discuss pending business , August meeting will be canceled , Next meeting will be September 21, 2021 @ 11 ; 00 a . m . at Crosby Mansion , Adlournment Joe Rego moved. to adjourn at 11 ; 54 a . m .
