HomeMy Public PortalAbout07-23-1981 BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, JULY 23, 1981 1 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met 2 in regular session July 23, 1981 at the hour of 9:00 a.m. in the Municipal 3 Building of said City. Mr. Meredith presided with Mr. Anderson present. 4 Mr. Webb was on vacation. The following business was had, to-wit: 5 6 APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF JULY 16, 1981 7 11/ 8 Mr. Anderson moved to approve the minutes of the previous meeting as received, 9 seconded by Mr. Meredith and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. 10 11 FIRE DEPARTMENT PROMOTION - Chief Mullin 12 13 Chief Mullin recommended Clarence Coble Jr. be advanced to the rank of Fire- 14 fighter with the Richmond Fire Department effective July 17, 1981. He has 15 completed his one (1) year probationary period. 16 17 Mr. Anderson moved to accept the recommendation of the Chief, seconded by Mr. 18 Meredith and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. 19 20 CURB CUT REQUEST FOR NATIONAL ROAD WEST - Dan Fienning 21 22 Assistant City Engineer Dan Fienning presented a driveway petition from Bruce 23 Houchin for 2700 National Road West. Planning, Traffic and Engineering De- 24 partments all recommend approval with the request to the State that it be 25 posted "no stopping or standing" and that there be deceleration and accelera- 26 tion lanes. There will be a yearly operated fruit marker on the site. 27 28 Mr. Anderson moved that this matter be taken under advisement, seconded by 29 Mr. Meredith. On voice vote Mr. Anderson voted aye and Mr. Meredith voted 30 no. The item will be back on next week's agenda. 31 32 MONTHLY REPORT FROM DEPARTMENT OF WEIGHTS AND MEASURES 33 34 The Weights & Measures Report for June was presented. 35 36 Mr. Meredith moved the report be accepted and filed, seconded by Mr. Anderson 37 and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. 38 39 RECEIVE BIDS FOR GASOLINE & STREET DEPARTMENT MATERIALS 40 41 City Attorney Ed Anderson examined proof of publication and found it to be 42 in order. 43 44 Mr. Anderson moved it be accepted and filed, seconded by Mr. Meredith and 45 on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. 46 47 The following bids were received and recorded: 48 49 American Aggregates Corp.
