BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE
CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, SEPTEMBER 25, 1980
1 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met
2 in regular session September 25, 1980 at the hour of 9:00 a.m. in the
3 Municipal Building of said City. Mr. Anderson presided with Mr. Webb
4 present. Mr. Meredith was out of town. The following business was had,
5 to-wit:

7 APPROVAL OF MINUTES

9 Mr. Anderson moved to approve the minutes of the previous meeting as prepared,
10 seconded by Mr. Webb and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried.

12 RESIGNATION - John L. Robinson

14 Police Chief Charles Chris presented a letter of resignation from Patrolman/
15 Tech. John L. Robinson II, effective September 22, 1980 and recommended
16 acceptance of the resignation. Mr. Webb moved the recommendation of the
17 Chief be approved, seconded by Mr. Anderson and on unanimous voice vote the
18 motion was carried.

20 RETIREMENT - Cleal R. Rheuble

22 Fire Chief Paul Mullin presented a letter recommending accepting the retire-
23 ment of Training Officer Cleal R. Rheuble, effective September 23, 1980 and
24 requests he be placed on pension, having completed twenty-three (23) years
25 of service with the department.

27 Mr. Webb moved the recommendation of the Chief be approved, seconded by Mr.
28 Anderson and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried.

30 Mr. Rheuble stated he had been proud to serve the City of Richmond and his
31 advice to young men is to be a firefighter first.

33 REQUEST TO HIRE PROBATIONARY FIREFIGHTERS

35 Fire Chief Paul Mullin recommended the appointment of Larry Rantanen to the
36 department as a probationary firefighter effective September 26, 1980.

38 Chief Mullin also recommended the appointment of Kevin Harrell to the
39 department as a probationary firefighter effective September 27, 1980.

41 Mr. Anderson moved acceptance of the recommendation of the Chief, seconded
42 by Mr. Webb and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried.
