SPECIAL MEETING
BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE
CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, JULY 21, 1980
1 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana met
2 in special session July 21, 1980 at the hour of 7 :25 p.m. in the Council
3 Chambers in the Municipal Building in said City. Mr. Meredith presided
4 with Mr. Anderson and Mr. Webb present. The following business was had,
5 to-wit:

7 Mr. Meredith announced this special meeting was called to consider a request
8 by the New Car Dealer's Association to extend their show they are having on
9 property commonly known as the old Wayne Dairy property. The request is for
10 an extension of a two (2) day period. Their previous approval had been for
11 temporary closing for the service drive located between the Promenade and
12 South "A" between 5th and 6th for the period of July 15 through 21, in ad-
13 dition thereto, remove the time limit and parking on 6th Street in those
14 areas where parking now is permitted on a restricted time basis and that the
15 Dealer's Association provide the City with a save harmless agreement or in-
16 surance to the satisfaction of the City. Mr. Meredith noted that some of the
17 dealers have been parking cars on the sidewalks and recommended the motion
18 have a stipulation to discontinue parking on the sidewalks to maintain pedes-
19 train as well as vehicular traffic. Mr. Anderson moved to permit the New Car
20 Dealers' Association a two (2) day extension for their show with the stipula-
21 tion that there be no parking on the sidewalk, seconded by Mr. Webb and on
22 unanimous voice vote the motion was carried.
