Regular meeting.
Council met in regular session, DRayor Vahlsing presiding.
Councilmen all present.
Minutes of Sept meetings were read and on motion by Okones
second' by Hook approved. as read, motion carried.
D J Peters asked permission to lay � inch galvanized pipe
in the street to connect water service for his residence.
On motion the above request was graiated, provided that
the connection � the main to the stop box be of copper.
It was moved by Heddens second by Hook that the Fire Co.
flush the se�.vers, and to use their o��m best ,judgment as to
flushing* from Lamp holes in the streets motion carried.
It was moved by Okones second by Boeke that the
cancellation of Cigarette and Beer permits of Eugene Huisman be
accepted, am that the Clerk refund for unexpired permits,
Treasurers report wa.s received, read and ordered placed
on Pile.
The following were choses as delegates to attend the Annual
League convention, P,dayor Vahlsing, H B Hook, M i��t Boeke.
The following bills were presented, read and on motion by

The Iowa Road Building Co havinf completed their contract of
costruction of liquid asphalt and gravel surf acing of the streets,
and the Engineer having prepared the report of the coat thereof,
therefor the council after due consideration adopted the following
resolution, which was moved for adoption by councilman Heddens and
seconded bit councilman Okones.
�� De it resolved by the Council of the Town of ti9ellsburg Iowa,
that said construction of liquid asphalt and gravel surfacing, be, and
the same is hereby accepted as fully complying with the terms
and provisions of the contract therefor, and that the Clerk be and
he hereby is instructed to cause xx��a�xa�xs�la�du�e to be
prepared a plat and schedule of assessments proposed to be made.for
and•on account of the cost and expenses of said improvement,which
. plat and schedule shall be filed in the office of the Town. Clerk

Mayor declared resolution adopted.
Councilman Okones introduced the following resolution and moved.

tiVhereas the street improvement ordered. on certain streets
and allys in �he Town of tiYellsburg, Iowa, and constructed under
contract with a Road Building Co, dated Jjul 18th 1947, has been
completed and was accepter' on the 5th c?av of Oct 19a?, and v*herePs
a plat and schedule has been prepared and Piled in the office of the
Town Clerk, showing assessments proposed to be made for the cost
of said improvement against the property abutting on or adjacent
to the same.
CVhereas the assessments shown thereon seem to be proper
assessments to be made for and. on account of the cost and expense
ofl said improvement:
Now THEREFmR, Be it resolcaed by the council of the Town
of �fellsburg io���a, that the Clerk be and he is hereby directed to
give notice in the manner and for the time required by law, that s iad
plat and scheduleare on file in his office and that within 20 dagcs
after the first publication of said. notice, all objections thereto
or to prior proceedings on account of errors or inequalities,
irre€;ulzrities must be made in writing and filed with the Clerk.
That this council will meet after the expiration of said 20

days and consider any objections which may be filed, and , making
any corrections found necessary, �*'ill then make the special assessmen
as shown in said plat and schedule a_s corrected and approved.

Hearing was had on all objections to Street Improvement
assessments, were du1.y considered., re -considered. and adjusted
wh-ere the assessment �tias �*�-ea.ter tha_ffi the legal limit of �5l
of. the value thereof , same were adjusted. to comn7_y with the law.
Thereafter, Councilman Junker moved the adoption of
the resolution adopting; the Assessment for Street Improvement
as shown on the corrected plat an d schedule on file with the
Clerk and made a pert of this Record. D!Iotion secoT,ded by
