BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF TH]
CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, FEBRUARY 7, 1980
1 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana met
2 in regular session February 7, 1980 at the hour of 9:00 a.m. in the Muni-
3 cipal Building in said City. Mr. Meredith presided with Mr. Anderson and
4 Mr. Webb present. The following business was had, to-wit:

6 Mr. Webb moved to approve the minutes of the previous meeting as prepared,
7 seconded by Mr. Anderson and on unanimous voice vote the motion was
8 carried.

10 Chief of Police Charles Chris presented a letter of resignation from
11 Officer Thomas 0. Bass for personal reasons effective February 4, 1980.
12 The Chief recommended acceptance from the Board. Mr. Webb so moved,
13 seconded by Mr. Anderson and on unanimous voice vote the motion was
14 carried.

16 Chief Chris recommended Detective Tom Cox and Officer Michael Chambers
17 attendance at the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy for arson investiga-
18 Lion February llth through February 15th. Mr. Anderon moved to authorize
19 the attendance, seconded by Mr. Webb and on unanimous voice vote the
20 motion was carried.

22 Fire Chief Paul Mullin recommended acceptance of the retirement of
23. Captain Robert McLear effective February 7, 1980 and that he be placed
24 on pension as he has completed his twenty (20) years of service with
25 the department. Mr. Anderson moved to accept the retirement, seconded
• 26 by Mr. Webb and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried.

28 Chief Mullin recommended the appointment of Mr. Robert O'Neil to the
29 department as a probationary firefighter effective February 8, 1980.
30 Mr. Anderson moved to accept the recommendation of the Chief, seconded
31 by Mr. Webb and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried.

33 Mr. Webb moved the report of the Bureau of Buildings for January, 1980
34 be accepted and placed on file, seconded by Mr. Anderson and on unani-
35 mous voice vote the motion was carried.

37 There being no further business the meeting was adjourned.
