HomeMy Public PortalAbout12-06-1979 G7 BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, DECEMBER 6, 1979 1 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met 2 in regular session December 6, 1979 at the hour of 9:00 a.m. in the Municipal 3 Building of said City. W. Meredith presided with Mr. Anderson and Mr. Webb 4 present. The following business was had, to-wit: 5 6 Mr. Webb moved to approve the minutes of the previous meeting as prepared, 7 seconded by Mr. Anderson and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. 8 9 Director of Community Development Tim Ryder presented a mortgage release. 10 Under their replacement housing program, they place a mortgage on the lot 11 to recoup some of the cost. This release is for $250 mortgage which is 12 the full amount of a lot at 613 South 13th Street belonging to Tom Ella 13 Tucker. Mr. Ryder requested the Board sign this release. W. Anderson 14 moved to authorize the release of the mortgage, seconded by Mr. Webb and 15 on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. 16 17 Building Commissioner Charles Roberts presented a report for November 1979. 18 Mr. Webb moved the report. be accepted and placed on file, seconded by W. 19 Anderson and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. 20 21 Mr. Meredith recessed the Board until 9:55 a.m. 22 23 The Board reconvened to hear a nuisance complaint against Donald & Charmaine 24 Ellison at 1516 South 4th Street. W. Anderson read the complaint, which 25 is for two (2) inoperable vehicles, trucks and parts. Mr. & Mrs. Ellison 26 were present, not represented by an attorney and did receive notice of the 27 complaint and hearing date. Mr. Ellison stated the only remaining vehicle 28 is a van, which is owned by his son. Mr. Dennis Bronston, the complaintant, 29 stated the nuisance still exists so long as the van remains there. W. 30 Ellison stated his son intends to plate the vehicle this week-end. W. 31 Meredith stated he felt it is a little unfair to expect anyone to plate a 32 vehicle with only twenty-six (26) days remaining in the year. 33 34 W. Meredith moved that a nuisance still exists on the property owned by 35 Donald and Charmaine Ellison, 1516 South 4th Street, and that nuisance 36 ordered to be corrected or removed on or before January 15, 1980 or the 37 Board will cause it to be removed, seconded by Mr. Webb and on unanimous 38 voice vote the motion was carried. Mr. Meredith asked W. Bronston for 39 a report on January 17 as to the condition. 40 41 Mr. Webb moved that the Confirmatory Resolution vacating East Lane be 42 executed, seconded by Mr. Anderson and on unanimous voice vote the motion 43 was carried. 44 45 There being no further business on motion duly made, seconded and passed 46 the meeting was adjourned. 47 48 Donald E.
