BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE
CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, JUNE 21, 1979
1 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met
2 in regular session June 21, 1979 at the hour of 9:00 a.m. in the Municipal
3 Building of said City. Mr. Anderson presided with Mr. Webb present. Mr.
4 Meredith was out of town. The following business was had, to wit:

6 Mr. Anderson moved to approve the minutes of the previous meeting as prepared,
7 seconded by Mr. Webb. Motion carried.

9 The following bids were received and recorded for materials and gasoline for
10 the Transportation Department:

12 American Aggregates Corp: per ton #2 stone $2.95, #73 gravel $2.80, #9 gravel
13 $2.90, #11 gravel $3.10, fill sand $1.45, pea gravel $2.00, fill sand $1.45, shot

15 plant with hauling prices delivered to Street Garage $1.25 per ton. Minimum

9 Jerry Haynes, Director of Transportation, recommended that these bids be
10 taken under advisement as some of the items are on non-advertised products.
11 . Mr. Webb moved the bids be taken under advisement. Mr. Anderson seconded
12 the motion. Motion carried.

14 At this time Mr. Anderson presented the Rose Festival Queen and her Court to
15 the. Board of Works. In turn, the Queen presented her .Court and Mr. Anderson
16 stated that going along with the. Mayor's Proclaimati.on, the Rose Festival
17 was to be a time of joy and happiness in the City of Richmond..

19 Mr. Anderson stated that a curb cut had been requested by Cassanos, 1390
20 National Road West (Old Spur Filling Station .site) . This has been checked .
21 out by the Planning Department, Engineering Department.. and Traffic Division.
22 Mr. Webb moved to accept this curb cut, Mr. Anderson seconded the motion.
23 Motion carried.

25 Mr. Anderson stated that a vacation of alley ;(16-=feet wide) reques,t had come
26 from-Mr. J_im,Wiechman,.-betweeri.North 4th and North--5th Streets; 1/26-lock_
27 long south of iQor'th- "D.'.':Street - petitioned by Porter Sign. Company. Mr.
28 Anderson moved that this be referred to the Planning Commission to be
29 advertised at public hearing. Mr. Webb seconded the motion. Motion carried.

31 Mac Earnest came before the Board to request acceptance of surety for
32 Executive Manor Offices. The developer presented a letter of credit in the
33 amount of $200.00 which includes $60,000 set aside. for construction of streets,
34 curbs, and gutters. Mr. Webb moved that we-accept this surety construction,
35 Mr. Anderson seconded the motion. Motion carried. . .

37 Gertrude Ward of Neighborhood Preservation Services requested permission to
38 move two (2) houses. One house at 123 South. 7th Street to be moved to
39 431 South 4th Street and the second house at 312 South 10th Street to be moved
40 to 435 South 4th Street. They are to be moved by a firm, Royer and Boyer,
41 Greenfield, Indiana. Mr. Anderson asked that Ms.Ward .appear before the Board
42 next week to present a route for moving the houses. Mr. Anderson moved
43 for tentative approval to move the above houses, with next week being the
44 final decision date, Mr. Webb seconded the motion. Motion carried.

46 The Mullin Nuisance Hearing was continued to the following week. .

48 There being no further business on motion duly made, seconded and passed, the
49 meeting was adjourned.
