HomeMy Public PortalAbout02-15-1979 -- 5 BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, FEBRUARY 15, 1979 1 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met 2 in regular session February 15, 1979 at the hour of 9:00 a.m. in the 3 Municipal Building of said City. Mr. Meredith presided with Mr. Anderson 4 and Mr. Webb present. The following business was had, to-wit: 5 6 Mr. Webb moved to approve the minutes as prepared, seconded by Mr. Anderson 7 and on unanimous voice vote, the motion was carried. 8 9 Mr. Meredith presented a contract with the Wayne Township Trustee for seven 10 thousand dollars ($7,000.00) for a van that the Trustee is agreeing to 11 provide that will be operated under the Park Department for providing services 12 . for aging Americans living in Wayne Township operating out of SWAC. A 13 contract was previously approved; however, the Township Trustee found he 14 could not make one lump payment and must be made in installments, so the new 15 contract is to replace the contract calling for a lump sum payment. All 16 other terms and conditions are the same. Mr. Anderson moved to approve the 17 contract, seconded by Mr. Webb and on unanimous voice vote, the motion was 18 carried. 19 20 Mr. Webb presented a curb cut request for 1717 Chester Boulevard for Wyatt's 21 Book and Bible House. They had requested approval for a parking lot at this 22 location which was denied by the BZA. The Plan Department, Traffic Department, 23 and Engineering Department recommend denial., since it is not required as the 24 parking lot was not approved. Mr. Anderson moved that the curb cut be - 25 denied, seconded by Mr. Webb and on unanimous voice vote, the motion was 26 carried. 27 28 Mr. Meredith stated that a request from the Street Light Committee to install 29 one 250-watt street light located in the alley west of South 3rd between 30 "C" and "D" had previously been taken under advisement. Mr. Anderson moved 31 to reject the request of the Street Light Committee that a light be placed III 32 in the alley, seconded by Mr. Webb and on unanimous voice vote, the motion 33 was carried. 34 35 Mr. Meredith reported a call was received this morning from Mrs. Ed Ross, 36 South 21st Street between Reeveston and South "B", requestingthat it be 37 reported to the Board of Works that she has lived at the above address for 38 thirty-nine (39) years and this is the best j6b done in cleaning the streets. 39 She noted even the cross-overs have been cleaned. Mr. Meredith further stated 40 there have been a number of good =:comments=this=_year. 41 42 There being no further business on motion duly made, seconded and passed, 43 the meeting was adjourned. 44 45 Donald E.
