HomeMy Public PortalAbout02-08-1979 o i BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, FEBRUARY 8, 1979 1 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met 2 in regular session February 8, 1979 at the hour of 9:00 a.m. in the Municipal 3 Building of said City. Boy Scout Todd Rhoda (acting City Controller) and 4 Mr. Meredith presided with Mr. Anderson and Scout Sean Butler (acting City 5 Engineer) and Mr. Webb present. The following business was had, to-wit: 6 7 Scout Butler and Mr. Webb moved to approve the minutes of the previous 8 meeting as prepared, seconded by Mr. Anderson and on unanimous voice vote, 9 the motion was carried. 10 11 Chairman of the March of Dimes Walk-A-Thon, Mr. Louis Gibbs, presented a 12 route for the annual event to be held April 28, 1979 starting at Seton South. 13 The route will be approximately twenty (20) miles: and the participants will 14 have arm bands. This request has the approval of Capt. Scott Loper. Mr. 15 Anderson moved to approve the March of Dimes Walk-A-Thon on Saturday, April 16 - 28 on the route as described on the recommendation of the Police Department, 17 seconded by Mr. Webb and on unanimous voice vote, the motion was carried. 18 19 Scout Jeff Norris (acting Directorof Community Development) and Tim Ryder 20 presented a contract for Community Development with Attorney George Sowers 21 for professional services. Mr. Anderson moved the contract be accepted, 22 seconded by Mr. Webb and on unanimous voice vote, the motion was carried. 23 24 Mr. Webb presented a request from the Street Light Committee of Common 25 Council for installation of four (4) 250-watt mercury vapor street lights 26 along Dana Parkway. Capt. Loper stated traffic was not heavy in the area 27 with the exception of people coming and going to work at Dana. Mr. Webb 28 moved approval of the request, seconded by Mr. Anderson and on unanimous 29 voice vote, the motion was carried. The Clerk was instructed to notify III 30 RP&L of the action. 31 32 In attendance were Scouts acting in the following positions: Mayor Tom Trotter, 33 Police Chief Andy Pavord, -`Capt. of Traffic Keith Rehmel and Director of 34 Transportation Danny Pavord. 35 36 There being no further business on motion duly made., seconded and passed, the 37 meeting was adjourned. 38 39 ` Donald E.
