HomeMy Public PortalAbout12-07-1978 BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, DECEMBER 7, 1978 1 The Board of Public Works. and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met 2 in regular session December 7, 1978 at the hour of 9:00 a.m. in the Municipal 3 Building of said City. Mr. Meredith presided with Mr. Webb present. Mr. 4 Anderson was out of town on City business. The following business was had, 5 to-wit: 6 7 Mr. Webb moved to approve the minutes of the previous meeting as prepared, 8 seconded by Mr. Meredith and on unanimous voice vote, the motion was carried. 9 10 Mr. Keith McGathey, representing the Housing Authority, requested a No III 11 Parking sign be placed in front of Sycamore Square in addition to the now 12 present yellow curb. He stated this area is needed for loading and unloading 13 senior citizens. Traffic Capt. Scott Loper suggested a loading and unloading 14 sign instead of No Parking. Mr. Meredith recommended the Housing Authority 15 could notify the Richmond Police Department for enforcement when. violation 16 occurs. Mr. Webb moved that the Housing Authority work with the Police Traffic 17 Division by informing them of these violations and letting the Traffic 18 Department ticket the cars when they can and see if this can be worked out 19 without putting a sign up, seconded by Mr. Meredith and on unanimous voice 20 vote, the motion was carried. 21 22 Mr. Webb moved that the recommendation of Chief of Police Charles Chris. to 23 place Jack Myers and Marshall Smith in the acting position of Detective 24 effective December 7, 1978be approved, seconded by Mr. Meredith and on 25 unanimous voice vote, the motion was. carried. 26 27 Mr. Webb moved that the request of Chief Charles Chris to promote Dennis Rice 28 to the porbationary rank of Sargeant effective December 1, 1978 be approved, 29 seconded by Mr. Meredith and on unanimous voice vote, ,the motion;.was carried. 30 31 Mr. Meredith moved to approve the recommendation of Chief Chris and promote 32 Gregory Pipes to Patrolman Technician and Frederick Holsinger to Patrolman 33 effective December 5, 1978, seconded by Mr. Webb and on unanimous voice vote, III 34 the motion was carried. 35 36 Mr. Meredith moved to accept the report of the Bureau of Buildings -for 37 November, 1978, seconded by Mr. Webb'and on unanimous voice vote, the motion 38 was carried. 39 40 There being no further business on motion duly made, seconded and passed, the 41 meeting was adjourned. 42 43 Donald Meredith 44 President 45 46 ATTEST: JoEllen Trimble 47 Clerk of the Board
