HomeMy Public PortalAbout11-16-1978 / 5-) BOARD OF PUB:LI.0 WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, NOVEMBER 16, 19.78 1 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met 2 in regular session November 16, 1978 at the hour of 9:00 a.m. in the 3 Municipal Building of said City. Mr. Meredith presided with Mr. Anderson and 4 Mr. Webb present. The folloing business was had, to-wit: 5 6 Mr. Webb moved to approve the minutes of the previous meeting as prepared, 7 seconded by Mr. Anderson and on unanimous voice vote, the motion was carried. 8 9 Fire Chief Paul Mullin recommended that Probationary Firefighter Timothy 10 Hall be advanced to the rank of Fire Fighter, First Class, effective November 11 18, 1978. Mr. Anderson moved to accept the recommendation of the Fire Chief, 12 : seconded by Mr. Webb and on unanimous voice vote, the motion was carried. 13 14 Mr. Webb presented a curb cut request from Bruce Rambler, 2600 National 15 Road West for two (2) cuts, one off Hillcrest Avenue and one off Campbell 16 Avenue for a new storage lot. Mr. Webb noted this request has the approval of 17 Plan, Traffic and Engineering Departments. Mr. Webb moved for approval of .18 - the curb cut, seconded by Mr. Anderson and on unanimous voice vote, the. motion 19 was carried. 20 21 Mr. Webb presented a curb cut request from Ravinia Park Baptist Church, 312 22 South 31st Street, for a curb cut off South 31st Street. Mr. Webb noted this 23 request has the approval of Traffic, Plan and Engineering Departments. Mr. 24 Webb moved to approve the request, seconded by Mr. Anderson and on unanimous 25 voice vote, the motion was carried. 26 27 Mr. Meredith noted that, since the next Board meeting will fall on Thanksgiving, 28 he is calling the meeting for Wednesday, November 22, 1978 at 9:00 a.m. 29 30 Park Superintendent Don McBride requested permission to move Santa's House 31 from the Promenade to Glen Miller Park by going straight down Main Street to II/ 32 the Park. Mr. Anderson moved to authorize the moving of Santa's House at 33 a time and convenience of the Park Superintendent and Captain Loper of the 34 Police Department on the route as designated, being Main Street, seconded by . 35 Mr. Webb and on unanimous voice vote, the motion was carried. 36 37 Contractor Frank Juerling requested permission to install a ramp on Sailor 38 Street 8' x 3' x 6" for the Palladium-Item to have access to their building. 39 It was noted this ramp will extend into the alley 3' and the alley is only 40 19' 6" wide. Mr. Webb moved the matter be taken under advisement, seconded 41 by Mr. Anderson and on unanimous voice vote, the motion was carried. 42 43 Mr. Meredith noted the nuisance complaint against Lloyd Jones, 207 North 44 14th Street, which was scheduled for today at 10:00 a.m. has been dropped. 45 46 There being no further business on motion duly made, seconded and passed, 47 the meeting was adjourned. 48 49 50 Donald E.
