BOARD OF 'UB.L C WORKS AND SAFE.TX OF THE
CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, EEBRUARY 23, 1978
1 The Board of Public Works.. and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana met
2 in regular session February 23, 1978 at the hour of 9:00 a.m. in the
3 Municipal Building in said City. Mr. Meredith presided with Mr. Anderson
4 and Mr. Webb present. The following business was had, to-wit:

6 Mr. Webb moved to approve the minutes of the previous meeting as prepared,
7 seconded by Mr. Anderson and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried.

II/ 9 Mr. Bob Lindsey, representing the Richmond High School Vocational building
10 construction program, appeared before the Board to request permission to
11 park a construction trailer 10' X 32' on Hidden Valley Drive. Students have
12 constructed a house at the end of the present street and the trailer is now
13 parked in the drive of this structure. _ The house has been sold and the
14 trailer needs to:be._moved::_ _The_lot.:beyond the present house has not been
15 developed, so the trailer cannot be moved to the next construction location
16 due to the snow. Mr. Lindsey stated the trailer could be on the street for
17 as long as two (2) months. Discussion was held as to whether or not this is a
18 dedicated street at this time. Mr. Anderson suggested Mr. Lindsey contact
19 Mr. Ed Nicholson, developer of the area, to see if he has had the street
20 dedicated. City Plan Director Bob Goodwin will check to see if this street
21 has been dedicated.. Capt. Scott Loper, Traffic Division recommended trailer
22 be well marked so it will not be hit. Mr. Goodwin will give a report at the
23 next meeting and Mr. Lindsey will be notified.

25 Mr. Anderson moved to accept the recommendation of Chief of Police Charles
26 Chris that Officer. John Lantz be sent to the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy
27 February 27 - March 2 to attend the "Sex Crimes Investigation Course",
28 seconded by Mr. Webb and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried.

30 Capt. Loper stated he talked with Mr. Ray Mendenhall, State Highway, this
31 morning in reference to the condition of the Main Street Bridge.. The
32 southern most lane is now deteriorating. Mr. Mendenhall believes there is
33 a water build-up under this section and the two (2) east-bound lanes may -
34 have to be closed.

37 the meeting was adjourned.
